U2 Reveal Plans For New Album 'Songs of Experience': U2 News

(Radio.com) After shocking fans by releasing Songs of Innocence for free via iTunes in 2014, U2 have announced its follow-up will arrive in 2016. The band's 14th album, Songs of Experience, will be released sometime in 2016.

Bono told The Irish Times on Friday (Sept. 18), "We're going to get [Songs Of Experience] out next year." The 55-year-old frontman added," Unusually for us, a lot of the songs are done already."

Fans will have a lot more time to prepare for the release considering U2's controversial free release of Songs of Innocence on iTunes. Upon its release, the album appeared in every iTunes account in the world, whether users wanted the album or not. Following a backlash, Apple shared a way iTunes users can remove the album from their accounts and off their devices. Read more here.
