(Radio.com) George Clinton's pioneering funk band, Funkadelic, has released a remix for their latest song that includes an assist from the funky Compton rapper, Kendrick Lamar.

Funkadelic released a new EP on Friday (Sept. 25) called Ain't That Funkin' Kinda Hard on You? that includes a remix of the title track that give the funk sound a hip-hop upgrade.

It's a likely collaboration as Clinton appeared on Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly, giving the young rapper some funky advice on the opening track Wesley's Theory. This time Kendrick jumps on the P-Funk's crew's jam, with a few heavy lyrics of his own.

"See a nine to five was so jive turkey," Kendrick raps, "But when Thanksgiving came that check didn't hurt me / You plead the fifth, I read the fifth amendment/We both criminals with bad intention / They say time heals all, but if I could short cut my success mother funk all y'all"
