Britney Spears Streaming New Track 'Private Show'
.
(Radio.com) Britney Spears is ready to take on the world again with her upcoming album Glory, but for the moment she wants to give everyone a "Private Show." The singer premiered her latest track Thursday (August 4). "Private Show" finds Spears showing off her funky side, which comes across in the snaps, claps and other percussive flares the song exhibits. Sure, it also contains instrumentation and synths (the elements listeners expect from a pop song-especially a Spears pop song), but "Private Show" feels largely stripped of those additions so that Spears' vocals can shine. Spears delves into her deeper register on the second part of the chorus, singing "Work it work it, boy watch me work it/ Slide down my pole watch me spin it and twerk it." The way she plays with the meter provides an extra emphasis to the lyric's staccato-like rhythm, and shows a new direction for the singer. And then there's the bridge. Recorded to give her voice a raw tinge, Spears goes full on fierce. She practically screams, "Strut it out, strut it out/ Eyes on me/ Watch me strike a pose/ Feel my heat." Glory will be released on August 26th. Listen to "Private Show" here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
