Charles Kelley Covers Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball'

(Radio.com) Charles Kelley may be gearing up for the release of his upcoming solo debut The Driver and subsequent U.S. tour, but that doesn't mean he's too busy to lay down a mean cover.

Not only did Kelley release a cover of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," but he did it using only one microphone and in one take. Even though he keeps Cyrus' vocal arrangement, Kelley's version has a much softer feel about it compared to the original pop number.

Kelley's take even sounds a bit like Ryan Adams, between his low-throated builds on the verses and his bigger vocal growls on the chorus. It's a sentimental take on the love-lost song, and maybe one he'll play live once he launches his tour in April. Read more here.
