Ewan McGregor And Gary Oldman Perform At David Bowie Tribute
. In Los Angeles, actors Ewan McGregor and Gary Oldman joined musicians Seal and Fishbone's Angelo Moore for performances dedicated to Bowie. Billboard reports that McGregor's performance of "Heroes" was tinged by vague Bono-esque phrasing. McGregor famously sang Bowie's "Heroes" with Nicole Kidman in Baz Luhrmann's 2001 film, Moulin Rouge. McGregor also played a fictionalized character based on Iggy Pop and Lou Reed opposite actor Jonathan Ryhs Meyers' portrayal of Bowie in Todd Haynes' 1998 art-house film, Velvet Goldmine.
