(hennemusic) Jason Bonham talks about the legacy of drumming he has continued in the footsteps of his father - the late John Bonham of Led Zeppelin - in a clip from Sammy Hagar's AXS TV series "Rock & Roll Road Trip"

"Playing Led Zeppelin songs always has a love/hate relationship because it's the thing I'm most critical about in my performance," explains Jason. "My father was such an amazing musician and drummer.

"He had such a groove; it was unmatched by anybody and I'm not just saying that because every drummer I speak to tells me the same things. To play the music is a great privilege and an honor to be even [mentioned] in the same breath as my father."

John Bonham died in 1980 of a pulmonary edema brought on by inhaling his own vomit after drinking forty shots of vodka in a 24-hour period; he was 32.

The young Bonham began playing drums at the age of four, and appeared with his father in the Led Zeppelin film "The Song Remains The Same", drumming on a scaled-down kit. Read more and watch the clip here.
