David Bowie's 'Blackstar' To Be Focus Of Instagram Series
. Starring Rookie's Tavi Gevinson and Patricia Clarkson, the series will visually interpret Bowie's final album over the course of 16 episodes. The series "takes its audience on a journey of evocative images inspired by the moods suggested in the album's music, lyrics and artwork. The series is propelled by a focus on this visual interpretation of the ★ album as opposed to a literal, linear narrative," according to the press release. Bowie gave InstaMiniSeries' creators and producers access to his album before it was released on January 8. InstaMiniSeries Founder and Executive Producer Nikki Borges said, "We are grateful to have the opportunity to participate with the chameleonic rock icon and honored to be entrusted with interpreting his art." UNBOUND's writer and producer Carolynn Cecilia said, "David Bowie was a trailblazer, not just in the world of music, but in the art of storytelling." What exactly the InstaMiniSeries story will tell remains to be seen, but it promises to evoke a mood reflective of the album as a whole. Read more and watch the preview here.
