(Radio.com) For years, Kesha's highest-profile project was her ongoing legal battle against producer Dr. Luke, a messy and protracted situation that limited her capacity to appear as a recording artist. In 2016, she's stepped outside that narrow lane with a lauded Billboard Awards performance, intimate Vegas dates, and a host of appearances in music hubs like Nashville, TN.

As Kesha gears up for an August tour, she says she plans to swerve from dance pop into "dirty rock & roll and country music," genres that have been very kind to her comeback efforts.

Kesha will hit the road as Kesha and the Creepies, a group project that could successfully distance its frontwoman from her previous image. With a renewed focus on interpretation and musicianship, expect to experience Kesha as you've never seen her before.

"Until I can release my own music I will be reinventing some of my old songs and some of my favorite songs from my musical idols," she wrote on Instagram. "I've hand-picked songs from artists that have helped shape who I am and the music I make today." Read more here.
