(ABC) Tim Montana And The Shrednecks getting ready to hit the North American road for a U.S. and Canada tour where they will be supporting their fellow bearded rockers, ZZ Top.

The tour will be kicking off on March 22 in Youngstown, OH at the Stambaugh Auditorium Concert Hall. The trek will include a very special headlining gig of their own in Nashville on April 28 at the Wildhorse Saloon.

Frontman Tim Montana had this to say, "I've been listening to ZZ Top for as long as I can remember. ZZ Top kept me company in my childhood growing up off the grid in Montana. Taking the stage with them is a dream come true, because their music was my companion for so many years. I'm glad to call one of my heroes one of my best buds."

ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons adds, "We're happy T. Montana And The Shrednecks have joined up with us for the ZZ Top tour of 2016. It's a beardapalooza for sure. Seriously, TIM is the real thing - he's a little bit country with lots of hard rocks or, maybe he's a rocker in touch with some serious country roots. And, THE SHREDNECKS' song ,'Weed and Whiskey' is universal. It's a raucous round of revelry coming on strong."

Tim Montana And The Shrednecks' latest self-titled, self-released album was released last month, which features the fan favorite, "Weed & Whiskey" (featuring Gibbons, who also co-wrote the song). It was produced by Marshall Altman (Marc Broussard, Frankie Ballard, Eric Paslay), who declared, "In a world where we've been told that authenticity and heart are things of the past, I'm thankful for Tim Montana. Working with him was about defining his heart and soul and sound, and they are all intertwined. This is American music. This is Country music. This is Rock n Roll. And that's who Tim Montana is."

Gibbons appears and co-wrote three other songs, including "Fifty Fifty," "Rust In Red," and "This Beard Came Here To Party." The latter--written in 2013--became the unofficial anthem of the Boston Red Sox that was played during the final game of the American League Championship, as well as the first two World Series games.
