Attraction To Tragedy are releasing their new album "Passion Over Fashion" this Friday (October 14th) and to celebrate we asked Jaiden Shay to tell us about the track "Trippin". Here is the story:

At the time I was listening to alot of Funeral For A Friend and Fightstar. So when I started writing what became Trippin I wanted to make something that had a similar vibe. It all started with that clean Stutterfly esque intro. Originally when I started the band at 16 the first songs we wrote sounded similar to this but because I couldn't really sing we decided to go more metal. This was the first song I had written in this style in years and it felt really pure and honest.

Typically when I write I just open my mouth and the words just seem to come out. Sometimes it works and sometimes I need to write down a line or two to start. This was one of the times where it all just seemed to come together. I wrote the bulk of it in about 2 and a half hours. Months later in the studio my producer Jim Fogarty called me into his "command center" for the sessions, studio B. He played me a re-arranged version of the Trippin demo. I was so attached to my version that I really wasn't into it but I said I'd listen to it some more back at my hotel. I listened to it once or twice more and I knew he was right.

One of my goals with this record, Passion Over Fashion, was to make something me in high school would want to listen to and with Trippin I feel like I accomplished that and then some.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
