Gorillaz Hint at New Album and Release Jaguar Clip
.
(Radio.com) Gorillaz have been coy about specifics regarding their (rumored) next album, but they've reunited for a partnership with British auto manufacturer Jaguar. The virtual band lent their image to Jaguar's program to empower female engineers, with guitarist "Noodle" as the face of the project. In a new viral video for the partnership, Noodle takes a Jag for a spin around a race track and drops some witticisms about innovation and sustainability. "It's a baby-just two years old-and it only uses electric cars," he says. "Think of all the research and development into electrical engines! It will have benefits for the whole world, so I want to nurture it, support it and help it grow strong. Like one of those Tamagotchi. Remember them? Japanese invention." Gorillaz animator Jamie Hewelett directed the video and Jaguar announced Noodle will become the "flag-bearer for Jaguar's newly launched Formula E [electric car racing] team." In an interview with engineer Charanya Ravi, Noodle drops a hint that she's been "moonlighting from a secret mission to revolutionize music all over again." Watch the video here.
