Singled Out: Teddy Edwards' My Name
.
NYC-based singer-songwriter Teddy Edwardsjust released his debut single "My Name" and to celebrate we asked Teddy to share the story behind the track with us. Here is the story: I wrote "My Name" in 2014 at a songwriters' workshop for VocalizeU in Nashville with a friend of mine from New York, Baum. On the surface, the song talks about a relationship where two people have feelings for each other but are playing hard to get, being coy. At the same time, the song is also about the concepts of introductions and a desire known. For that reason, I look at "My Name" as a good introduction but also think my music has changed a lot since it was written and recorded (2015). Because the song was made a few years ago, it has a younger sound to it. I think part of being an artist is evolving your sound, and I look forward to share what I've been working on in my upcoming album. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
