Janick Gers sprained his back and suffered a head injury when he fell from the stage during a concert last week in Mannheim, Germany.  The guitarist lost consciousness and was bleeding from the head as a result of the fall. He was treated at a nearby Hospital where he received several stitches and was ordered to take a week off. 

Gers, is in London recovering and the band has been forced to cancel a number of dates including shows in Essen, Germany - Sophia, Bulgaria and Athens, Greece. 

Iron Maiden are still set to begin a North American tour with Rob Halford's new band and Queensryche on August 1st in Toronto.
