Rumors have abounded over the past couple weeks since Coal Chamber's drummer Mike Cox broke his shoulder. Many anticipated that the band would pull out of at least a few of the dates due to the injury. A few metal focused web sites went as far as to speculate that the band had broken up. Nothing could be further from the truth. Coal Chamber has spent most of the past year on tour supporting the latest album "Chamber Music" including the LIVIN LA VIDA LOCO tour with Slipknot and Machine Head, plus the ROAD RAGE tour that included fellow Road Runner Records recording artist, Type O Negative.
According to an official statement from Road Runner Records, " The band feels it's time to give the fans they saw along the way what they've repeatedly asked for - new music. "
The statement went on to say that the group had made "a collective decision to regroup in Los Angeles and lay down some of what they believe to be most exciting material to date. "
"We were writing on the back of the bus and during soundchecks during the last tour," says Dez "and it was coming out so well that we felt, creatively, now was the time to move forward on recording."
