On Wednesday, June 7th he was arraigned for two gun-related felonies that arose out of an incident at a neighborhood bar. The police say that the rapper suspected his wife was cheating on him, so he went to their favorite watering hole and discovered her in the parking lot kissing another man. Eminem reportedly pulled out a gun, made some threats and hit the man in the head with the gun. It was this incident that led to his arrest for possession of a concealed weapon and also assault with a deadly weapon. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on $100,000 bond.
Now the rapper faces additional charges steaming from another incident. It is well known in Hip-Hop circles that Eminem and fellow Detroit rap outfit Insane Clown Posse don't think too highly of each other. The new charges stem from a confrontation that occurred roughly 8 hours BEFORE the bar parking lot fight, outside a store in Royal Oak, Mich. Eminem ran into Douglas Dall, a reported member of ICP's entourage. The two then got into a verbal confrontation according to witnesses. The witnesses state that Eminem then brandished a gun on Dall.
Eminem is now looking at the possibility of fourteen years in prison if convicted. The original charges carry a maximum sentence of 9 years. Now he faces another possible five years for a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon as well as a misdemeanor count for brandishing a handgun.
