: Sexual Harassment suit filed against James Brown.

A former
employee of James Brown filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the Godfather
of Soul last week. Lisa Agbalaya claims that when she turned down
Mr. Brown's sexual advances she was fired. Agbalaya is suing for $2 million
for sexual harassment and wrongful termination.
Agbalaya
was the former head of the West Coast operations for James Brown Enterprises.
She worked for Mr. Brown for six years before he started making sexual
advances last year, according to the former employee. She also claims that
James Brown made unwanted sexual advances towards his other female employees.
Besides
the sexual harrasment claims, Agbalaya also contends that Brown smoked
marijuana in the office constantly.
The
Brown camp denies all allegations and accuses Agbalaya of trying to extort
money from her former employer. They imply that the former employee simply
misinterpreted comments made by Mr. Brown. Attorneys for Agbalaya attempted
to settle the case out of court but were met with resistance from Brown's
legal representatives.
According
to statements made by an attorney of the former James Brown employee, one
of the colorful comments supposedly made by James Brown that Agbalaya misinterpreted
was that he had bull testicles given to him by the government. So that's why he dances he way he does. How could
anyone misinterpret that? James can always counter and say that the marijuana
made him say it.
