Scott Stapp of Creed, and Wind-Up Records, have announced the September 26th release of a special, limited edition and enhanced package containing three versions of the hit With Arms Wide Open, and the compositions accompanying video. The compact disc will contain the string version that appears in the With Arms Wide Open video, a no-strings rock version, and an acoustic performance of the song. The latter two recordings are currently not available commercially. This release will officially launch Stapps With Arms Wide Open Foundation. The Foundations mission, Help for children, hope for families, has been set forth to promote healthy, loving relationships between children and their families and was initially funded with a personal donation of $25,000 from Stapp. Creed, Wind-Up and the Foundation hope to raise $400-500k before the end of the year. Ive always wanted to start an organization to help support families and children. With the success of Creed, I am finally in a position to do so on a national level and Im excited by the prospect of being able to give something back to the communities that have been so supportive of us, says Stapp.
Wind-Up Records will limit the release of this offering to 65,000 copies nationwide, with $3.00 from the sale of each compact disc going directly to the Foundation. The proceeds from this initial effort will meet the goal of raising $200,000 to finance the start-up of the With Arms Wide Open Foundation.
