Two stars of the rap world spent part of the holiday season behind bars. Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested on Monday (Dec. 23) for allegedly violating the terms of his parole and rapper DMX was arrested on Christmas Eve for a traffic violation and providing false identification to a police officer.

Marion “Suge” Knight was arrested on Monday, after a meeting with his parole officer, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department. The rap mogul was charged with violating his parole by associating with known gang members.  Los Angeles authorities reportedly discovered evidence of these possible associations during a raid on Knight’s home and office last month.

Knights home and office were searched on Nov 14th in connection with two unsolved homicides. Authorities stated after the raid that Knight is not a suspect in those cases.

DMX Arrested on Christmas Eve.

Rapper DMX was arrested on Christmas Eve in Harrison, New York. Police officers pulled the rapper over after he allegedly made an unsafe lane change in his Chevrolet Suburban.

DMX (real name Earl Simmons) was arrested shortly after being pulled over, after he provided  bogus identification to police officers when they asked for his license and registration. Apparently DMX was driving on a suspended license. An offense he was arrested for in March of 2000, which ultimately landed him in jail for 11 days in March of 2001 after he was sentenced to a reduced charge of driving without a license.

This time around DMX has been charged with failure to signal a lane change and possession of a forged instrument.  He was later released.
