Daisley and Lee Kerslake who both appeared on the original versions of Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman are currently battling Osbourne over royalties. The Osbourne camp recently reissued the two classic albums with entirely new bass and drum tracks done by Osbournes current band members, thus erasing the work Daisley and Kerslake contributed to the album or so we thought.
Now Daisley contends that he wrote the lyrics to both albums not Ozzy, "Ozzy didn't write lyrics" Daisley told Chart Attack during a phone interview." He never wrote lyrics in Sabbath Geezer Butler wrote all those lyrics and Randy [Rhoads] wasn't a lyricist, and Lee Kerslake wasn't a lyricist, so I took over the lyricist job.
"Ozzy doesn't play an instrument and he's not all that musical," said Daisley. "He's got good ideas as far as melodies go, but usually the melodies came after the music had been put together, and most of the music [on Blizzard] was put together by me and Randy, and for the second album, me, Randy and Lee."
Daisley also had some heated things to say about the decision to replace his and Kerslakes tracks on the recently released reissues of Osbournes first two solo albums, "They put these albums out without any notification on the front saying 'This isn't the original band this isn't the original recordings'," blast Daisley. "People could buy them out of ignorance, not knowing, and get them home and think 'What the f*** is this!'"
"I kind of expected it in one way that they would want to do something to either piss us off, or whatever, and insulting us I expect, but when it comes to insulting the memory of Randy Rhoads...." Daisley said "That's a real insult to the memory of Randy because he doesn't even get a say in who they put his playing with. His mother is pissed off about it. I talked to Mrs. Rhoads about it because I still talk to her once and a while."
Aside from claiming credit for the lyrics to Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman Daisley said that he deserve credit for work on Bark At The Moon and Ultimate Sin. He also contends that he was called in to help on bass tracks to No Rest For The Wicked and No More Tears, according to the Chart Attack Story.
The Osbourne Camp has yet to respond to these latest allegations from Daisley.
