Earlier this week Australian based music site Undercover reported that a release date of September 2nd has been set for the album. Almost nine years since The Spaghetti Incident was released. The report didnt provide a source or what background information on where they came up with the story. Several other music websites picked up the story and ran with it.
Now Launch Media is reporting that the September 2nd release date is bogus. Here is what they had to say, Guns N' Roses' record company and management has told LAUNCH that rumors that the band's forthcoming album, Chinese Democracy, was to be released Labor Day weekend are untrue. A spokesperson for Interscope/Geffen spoke to the band's management, who replied to the unsubstantiated rumor, Where are they getting this from?" Good question, so it appears that the album Chinese Democracy still has about as much chance of seeing the light of day this year as us witnessing China go democratic.
