Days after it was announced that the Police
are to be inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the long defunct
groups drummer Stewart Copeland told reporters that the band plans to
reunite to perform three songs during the induction ceremony at the Waldorf
Astoria in New York next March, according to the Associated Press.
"I am a dinosaur of rock," Copeland said
during a news conference in Milan where his band Stewart Copeland's Orchestralli
was in town to perform. "We're going to get together again after nearly
20 years."
There are reports that other members of
the class of 2003 including AC/DC, The Clash and Elvis Costello and the
Attractions are also set to perform at the induction ceremony, however
there has been no confirmation of this at press time.
