Nirvana Greatest Hits Gets A Name, Video And Release Date. Box Set and
Rarities CD Planned

The forthcoming Nirvana greatest hits album
will simply be titled History according to Courtney Love and the surviving
members of the group who issued a statement yesterday (Sept 30) that also
announced that the CD will be in stores on November 12th.
There are also plans to release a video
to accompany the much talked about previously unreleased track You Know
Youre Right which leaked to radio and the web last week. The video will
feature previously unseen footage of Nirvana, according to the statement.
What about that boxset? Fans will
have to wait until 2004. However, a rarities album is in the works and
is expected to hit stores sometime next year. "We hope that this release
will enable longtime Nirvana fans to hear some of their favorite songs
in a new context. At the same time, the upcoming CD will allow a whole
new audience to appreciate Nirvana's music and Kurt Cobain's great talent,"
read the statement from Love and Nirvanas Dave Grohl, and Krist Novoselic.
