Russell Simmons Resigns Following Sexual Assault Allegations

(Radio.com) Russell Simmons is stepping down as the head of his companies following sexual assault allegations. Simmons has been accused of assaulting screenwriter Jenny Lumet in 1991, with Lumet detailing the incident in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter.

Lumet explains how she met Simmons in the social orbit of New York City nightlife of the late '80s, and how the seemingly personable and charming Def Jam co-founder had "lightly" pursued her over the years.

She goes on to reveal how on a night in 1991, Simmons offered to give her a ride home after seeing him at a local restaurant. It was during that ride that instead of taking her home as promised, Lumet says she was then locked inside the vehicle and Simmons ordered his driver to take her to his apartment, where he raped her.

"While her memory of that evening is very different from mine, it is now clear to me that her feelings of fear and intimidation are real," Simmons said in a statement regarding the allegations. "While I have never been violent, I have been thoughtless and insensitive in some of my relationships over many decades and I sincerely apologize." Read more here.

Selena Gomez Talks Justin Bieber and the Weeknd Relationships

(Radio.com) It would be something of an understatement to say that Selena Gomez has had an eventful year. The pop star revealed that she had a kidney transplant due to complications from Lupus. She ended her high-profile relationship with the Weeknd, only to be seen spending a lot of time with ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, in recent weeks.

In a new interview with Billboard, Gomez has opened up about the past year and the status of those relationships. "Something that I'm really proud of is that there's such a true friendship [between me and The Weeknd]," Gomez revealed. "I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me."

When queried about the status of her relationship with Bieber, the singer emphasized their longtime connection as friends, sidestepping any indication of it being romantic, but not denying it either.

"I'm 25. I'm not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life," Gomez said. "So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn't right. But that doesn't mean caring for someone ever goes away. And [that goes for] people in general. I mean, I grew up with Demi [Lovato]. Nick and Joe [Jonas] and Miley [Cyrus] we've gone through seasons in our lives. I don't think it's as serious as people make things out to be half the time. It's just my life." Read more here.

Justin Timberlake Sings National Anthem With Stephen Colbert

(Radio.com) This fall, Justin Timberlake was confirmed as the Halftime Show performer at the 2018 Super Bowl. The multimedia entertainer stopped by The Late Show to discuss his next professional challenge. Early in his discussion with host Stephen Colbert, JT talked about why church is the best place for aspiring vocalists to hone their skills.

"You know that church is the best place to sing because you can go up there and completely botch anything and then at the end everyone says, 'amen,'" Timberlake quipped.

The worst number for wannabe singers to learn?: the National Anthem. Colbert and Timberlake harmonized on the notoriously difficult-to-sing song before Stephen grilled Justin about his upcoming Super Bowl show. The host alluded to Timberlake's 2004 performance, which ended in Janet Jackson's unforgettable "wardrobe malfunction." Justin didn't reveal much but remained diplomatic:

"It'll be great--it'll be a good show," he said. "Apparently a lot of people watch the Super Bowl. I've learned a lot of people watch the Super Bowl." Watch the full segment here.

George Strait's Custom Texas Mansion Goes On Sale

(Radio.com) It's safe to say that we all have an idea of how our dream home would look. George Strait made that dream into a reality. Strait's custom-built mansion in San Antonio, Texas, has now hit the market.

The country legend's dream home sits on 12.2 acres of secluded land in San Antonio, which Strait bought in the 1990s. The mansion was designed by world-renowned architect Bill Tull, who relocated to Texas for 2 years to build it. It features 14 hand-crafted fireplaces, stained glass windows, a copper-top bar, and an infinity pool and spa.

If you're wondering how much it will cost to make Strait's mansion your own, well, he's not saying. "He doesn't want to flaunt what he has," said listing agent Tamara Strait of Sotheby's International Realty, who also happens to be the singer's daughter-in-law (via Mansion Global). "He doesn't like to be in the limelight, that's why we weren't advertising it as his house."

It didn't take long for word to get out that Strait's home was on the market, with Tamara Strait receiving a flood of calls from prospective buyers quoting rumored asking prices, including the home's property tax value of $3.9 million. Ms. Strait says the actual price is more like "like three times that." Check out some footage of the amazing estate here.
