Brian, if "Hair Band is a term given to 1980s metal bands" does that make Van Hallen, Metallica, or Slayer hair bands? They all are metal bands that were around in the 1980s. I am only bringing this up because it came up in another discussion. Either way, many of metal bands that were big in 1980s started in the late 70s and most of the ones that were any good are still around, so I don't see how you can stereotype them as 1980s metal bands to start with. As for the amount of records sold, I don't even think that record sales are a good indication of whether a band is good or not, I just brought it up to disprove limp815 and, even though you are right, my point still stands if you consider it in context in which it was used.

One more thing limp dick. Even if you have seen a picture of Axl in a magazine and he was fat, which you obviously haven't, the Rock In Rio performance was last January and he wasn't fat then. So as long as he is not fat now, he can still kick the sh!t out of Fred Durst's wussy fat ass. And he is not fat now because he was on TV just the other day at the Lakers vs. Sixers game in LA and he was looking diesel. Axl is so pumped right now that even if Fred was to sit his fat ass on Axl, Axl would still wreck the living piss out of him. As for the balls comment, it's just an expression ... duh!

Posted bypyromania:
limp815, it seems like you might actually be even more ignorant than Fred Durst. Which is pretty sad considering that he is one of the MOST talentless musicians ever! Doing rap-metal isn't that hard and yet he can't even do that right. All he's doing is mixing up Motley Crue (I am talking about their 94 self-titled album's sound) with Dr. Dre and then adding his puny voice to it. The only difference is that Wes can't play guitar nearly as well as Mick Mars. There's nothing more to it. At least other rap-metal bands like Linkin Park can be original and kick ass.

I just saw the video for "Hash Pipe" this morning. I can't believe they can say "a-- wipe", but not hash. I know MTV has been censoring drug references since the "Gin and Juice" days, but their censorship standards keep getting more and more extreme, especially since they've been targeting the teenybopper audience.

Posted byAndisa:
I hate MTV. It's because they're hyppocrits. They won't play Weezer's Hash Pipe in its pure form cuz of its name. But what they do play is soo full of sexual messages that it's no wonder that we have 12 year olds getting pregnant these days. And they aim this crap at preteens! And the preteens eat up up with a spoon. MTV is an abomination and Carson Daily should be killed.

Limp, I retract my dictionary offer because I'm afraid the only good you would get out of it would be looking up profanity and giggling at the definitions. You're an idiot and may God have mercy on your children. Pyromania, I couldn't make head nor tails of your second post to our beloved limp 815. "Hair Band" is a term given to 1980s metal bands, not just any band who happens to sport a haircut. Please tell me this was an attempt at sarcasm. Also, while I don't have any official count on Guns'n'Roses and Limp Bizkit cd sales. You could very well be right but let me just say this... If "Appetite for Destruction" has sold more than all 3 LB cds, keep in mind that it was released in 1987 while Limp Bizkit's first cd was released in 1997. GNR had ten years to take more than a substantial lead before LB even started the race. I'm not taking up for Limp Bizkit or limp815, but I just can't stand to see anyone on the proverbial high horse but myself.

pyromania your calling fred fat but really hes phat. I saw axel in a magazeene an he wuz fat end of story. how do you no that freds balls R small, have U been peekin? your really dumb to be sayin that Freds a sissy because he doesnt like to fight. He'd rather be in the news for making great music than for beating up scot stap. Axel =fatty hair band

Posted bypyromania:
I just did and lacent's post makes perfect sense. I know that your post was sarcastic, and it was that very sarcasm that I was talking about.

Posted byiamsocool:
please read lacent's post, and then re read mine. its a little thing people call sarcasm

Posted bypyromania:
to iamsocool: Actually, The Beatles had countless of huge hits. What about Let It Be, Come Together, Yellow Submarine? All of those songs are classics. All you have to do is get 1 to see that they had 27 #1 hits. THAT IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING. And this is not even counting the songs that didn't go to #1 and are still ingrained in the psyches of generations. Led Zeppelin had Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Communication Breakdown, Black Dog ... I can go on and on about the hits of The Beatles and Led Zepplin. It is a shame for you to even suggest that those bands are one hit wonders. It just show how accurate this Rantitorial is. It is sad how all the MTV generation knows about is Smells Like Teen Spirit and Heart-shaped Box. Just because The Beatles and Led Zeppelin did not have their DOZENS of hits played on MTV and all that MTV ever played by them was Yesterday and Stairway To Heaven in a stupid Rolling Stone magazine countdown, doesn't mean that those bands were one hit wonders. When they were still recording music, they rocked the whole world while releasing mega-hits for years!

Posted byloser54:
hey tolimp815. AI agree with some of your points, but dpon't make like rock is for white poeple and rap is for black people. Both forms of music were created by black people. Both have many whit listeners. But I'm black and greatly enjoy punk, alt. rock, and other derivatives of basic rock and roll. Don't generalize. You come off like the narrowminded retards you despise.

Posted byiamsocool:
Nirvana a one hit wonder? I guess then the beatles are a one hit wonder with yesterday. And Zeppelin is a one hit wonder with stairway. *stamps his head with his 'musically impared' stamp*

Posted bypyromania:
limp815, now I know why people could possibly listen to the crap that you listen to. You low-lives just suppose that something is good and then actually believe it, just like you SUPPOSED that Axl was fat when it couldn't be further from the TRUTH. And as for the "hair bands" that you said aren't considered cool, Korn and NIN have hair and they ARE considered cool. Plus, not all members of Limp Bitzkit are hairless. One final thing, since you said that rap rock bands sell more than hair bands, the FACT is that Appetite for Destruction ALONE has sold more copies than ALL of Limp Bitzkit's albums COMBINED!

Posted bypyromania:
limp815, why don't you go to reach.to/rockinrio and download videos from GN'R's Rock in Rio performance to prove to your pathetic self that Axl Rose is NOT fat. Not only that, but he looks like he can kick the living sh!t out of pretty much anyone; Let Alone Fred Durst's fat ass. Fred Durst may have a big mouth, but he's got small balls. When Fred started talking sh!t about Creed and Scott Stapp challenged him to a boxing match, Fred Durst responded like the biggest sissy of all time. He backed out saying that he doesn't like to resort to violence. What a pussy?!?!?

Posted bypyromania:
GREAT POST LACENT!

Posted bylacent:
Well Antiguy, I think you have a lot of very valid points on this subject and I agree with most of them. MTV has always had a huge impact on the youth of the society, I mean, look at Nirvana, they were hardly a great band, one hit wonder, (they had several video's and such but one major hit) and they are in MTV standards the most influential band of the 90's. Hardly, MTV also credits korn and limp bizkit with being the first rap rock, once again, also bull, when there are bands out like Faith No More 10 years before either, kinda makes you wonder.

Posted byBrian Moore:
I think both of you are dumb...the word is "jealous." Limp, that dictionary offer still stands. Sunny, who's matalica? They obviously aren't sellouts because I've never even heard of them, but I'll bet they're trying to get famous by name recognition from those mp3 loving cats in Metallica. I can't believe limp815 actually made a good point. What does BRITNEY HAVE to do with this argument. And limp, we see you and your ignoRANTS, you don't have to post them twice. I agree with toof's sentiment on Britney's tits. They are tangeable objects (maybe not in this lifetime, but they can be touched hypothetically) so they're real enough for me.

Posted bylimp815:
sunny, your jelous to. your jelous because your crap music isnt populer so you half to take it out on me becaus im rite. and what does brittany spears boobs half to do with this? now whos dumb?

Posted byto limp815:
your just jelous?! that was really dumb of you! you must have watched TRL too many freakin times! for Gods sake! are you that pathetic that you'd say to someone "oh you're just jelous..." like theres anything there to be jelous of! the dreck that they put on MTV is so dumb I mean come on Britney Spears? don't you think it's about time she got the fake tits taken out?! Lets all hope that this pop thing will fade away. oh yeah and Kayla, I'm going to use something of your post. Us *NORMAL* people are tired os staying underground. And one more thing, you pop listening sunhumans are the one that said matalica sold out because they cut their hair and that because system of a down started a tour they sold out! Well the pop world is full of sellouts! so get a life! ~Sunny

Posted bySunny:
I fully agree with this rant! TRL is and always will pose a threat to rock music and the TRL low lifes are too damn stupid to think on their own so they elect Carson Daly to do it! that is stupid and pathetic and I pitty all of you little poptarts!

Posted byLopez:
the whole music industry is all discriminated u have rap rock r and b what happened to good o music huh?..sheesh...im tired of all the sterotypin in music music is suppose to be UNIVERSAL! SHEESH!

Posted byKayla:
seriously, on mtv who puts on the music videos? it's probably someone who knows nothing at all about music, someone just in it for the money. people just in it for the money are making music REALLY suck. This kind of music is perfect for all the preps/sheep, but for the rest of us normal people, we'll have to stay underground for now. and i guess that's for the better, because hey, if they're mainstream, how will you ever get close to them, or get amazing seats at their concerts or anything like that.

Loser Missy Elliot is a talentless hack! LOL you call her crap innovative? Go smoke some more dope dumbass.

Posted byBrian Moore:
First of all, I called you a retard because your spelling is pathetic. A few misspellings here or there are fine and are usually unnoticable, but Jesus Christ...I'll buy you a dictionary if you promise you'll use it. Secondly I don't listen to "hair music," I'm more of a Foo Fighters kind of guy. And believe me, I would grow a "mullit" if it would stop you from posting anymore Fred Durst praises. You know, there are 4 other guys in the band. And who gives three turds which generational rock icon could kick the other's ass. Does it really matter? If it does, my money's on Henry Rollins, cause that's one big mofo.

Posted bylimp815:
axl rose is to fat to kick any thing. fred wuld beet da hell outta all da hair bands. mixing rock an rap isnt stupid cuz its what da people R listenin to. rap/rawk sells more than axl does so your an idiot And what is your prob brian more? im not a re-re. your just jelous like everyone else that your crapy hair music isnt kewl anymore. go grow a mullit or somethin

Posted byto limp815:
Hair bands rule! I bet you AXL Rose would kick Your hero's aSs Fred Durst any time any day of the week, Fred Durst is a poser, he is trying to hard to act black and white at the same time. Make up your mind Durst are you rapper or a metalhead, cus mixing the 2 is stupid

Talent and innovation at work: "Beep Beep, who got da keys to da jeep...VROOOOOOM"

Posted byloser54:
I think this antiguy rant is crap. He came off as a moron first by the comparisons between hitler and carson daly. then he spent the rest of the rant apologizing for the ridiculousness of his speculations. Missy Elliot is not a talentless hack, she IS an innovative and talented artist. Her sound is different and unique. Antiguy criticizes TRL from preventing innovative artists from coming into public view, but then completely disrespects a talented young producer like elliot who has benefitted from trl. Yes, trl has alot of power. Yes there are some insipid acts who appear on this show and drive our culture. But the outrageous comparisons to cults are just melodramatic and basically not worth paying attention to. I like this site, but this time, antiguy was simply wrong.

Posted byBrian Moore:
...and limp815, you're right, you're not a teenybopper, you're just a retard.

Posted byBrian Moore:
"the fans look up 2 carson cuz hes hot!!!"? I pity the youth more than ever and I am scared for our future when the people with the most influence are in that position because of how photogenic they are. I don't know about you guys, but I'm jumping on the band waggon early. Vote for President Affleck in 2008.

Posted bylimp815:
yea, limp an da otha bands R da futur of rock. you're dinosor crapy hair bands R dead. and IM NO FUKKIN TEENYBOPPER. i like good music. DOWN WIT WACK STREET

Posted bylimplova4eva:
i wouldn't consider trl beind a cult to fans. it's just that the fans look up 2 carson cuz hes hot!!!! and i don't agree with the whole thing about people not gettin a record deal cuz it doesn't fit trl. it doesn't work that way. a lot of bandsr really popular but just not on trl and r still very succesful.
