What the hell is wrong with you people? Isn't it obvious that Michael was falsely accused. I agree with Logic, if he really hurt this kid, why the hell did they take the money? Michael has a skin condition that messed up his skin tone, it is not his fault.Michael's new album is excellent, have any of you "haters" even heard it to be making judgments.Michael is an excellent artist & the only reason people hate on him so much is because the media is constantly throwing this negative picture of him in your face & that's how they sell papers. How can you say Michael is a freak or a weirdo? Do any of you know him? As for this racist issue, Michael is simply standing up for what he believes in. Invincible was not properly promoted because after a while you didn't hear anything about it, no new singles or videos. If they would've released more material from the album it would've been a major hit.He has done so much for so many people, has won so many awards, & is the only artist to have staying power from childhood to middle age. He lost out on a normal childhood, so now he is trying to recapture it. He isn't hurting anybody. He actually looks like a sweet person. His 30th anniversarry concert was watched by 26 million people. That shows that Michael can always catch your attention!

If Michael Jackson is a child molester, then where is the endless sea of parents with civil suits against him? A person with a sexual problem would not just molest "one special kid" in a crowd of children, he would molest most of the kids in his ranch. Where is the other families with their claims. I don't think its possible for him to silence all of them with a check. In his carrer he must have come in contact with thousands upon thousands of kids, but not one parent came out seeking justice. I believe he was set up. This is a time tested axiom in life : Where there is money there is corruption and where there is alot of it you can bet there is alot of corruption. You believe Michael is a child molester because this is what you have been told by the media. Ask yourself who had the most to gain by destroying the greastest performing star in the world, and you'll be closer to the truth.

Posted by Amused By Human Tragedy:
I will not "judge him", but I will not "try hard to love him", 'cause, let's face it, how hard would he try to love me? But even as I get off his case I still think his little tirade deserves a bit of mockery. Is he really deluded enough to think that it's about racism? He's a freak. I know he has his reasons, but he is a freak, and that's why he is so frowned upon.

Michael Jackson is a person and he has a heart. Just leave him the hell alone! He never did anything to you!

Posted by LithiumBliss:
What a dumbass! She tells just about the only person here who stuck up for the freak to f*ck off. What a retard!

Posted by krystal:
mj is the king of pop!f*ck you westsavannah!mj is more talent than any body!

Posted by WestSavannah:
Michael Jackson had a f*cked up life, one that no other person on this planet can relate to (and if you think you can you must have been the OTHER child star who grew up in front of millions of people, was terrorized and abused by your father, and never fell out of the spotlight until your mid-30's, at which point you still can't step outside of your house without someone snapping a picture because your name is MICHAEL JACKSON). So, in effect, he is a f*cked up person (but with a sh*tload of talent). As for him being a child molestor, there are two sides to a story and most of you don't know his side (which is too long to type, and most of you wouldn't listen to it anyways), and the side you do know is filled with holes that you just fill in with whatever you can remember reading from whatever garbage news publishers you originally got it from. Nobody wants to publish "Michael Jackson Is A Good Person." Nobody would buy it. It's all about $$, which is what this recent scandal seems to be about too. Say what you want about whatever is going on now, but Michael Jackson is a human being who has done so much for other people (more than most artists) and he may be out of style, his new album may suck, but hold your judgements on his character. People on the inside know the story behind the molestation scandal and it seems others like to label him names simply because its fun. As for the plastic surgery, Michael Jackson has always been very insecure with his looks, which is understandable since the entire world has been watching him since he can remember. And the "bleached skin"? A rare form of vitilago. So show some f*cking respect to this "circus freak" who changed music forever.

GREENMUSE, I'm always glad that someone on here knows those facts. As for PopRox, good music never really dies and "Thriller" is a classic. However, the new album is just a complete and inferior rehash of earlier material and sounds. That's his problem.

Posted by PopRox:
Michael Jackson was right about one thing. He is a victim. He's really a victim of changing music times and music taste. Today's music listener is more interested in Dave Matthews, Enimem, Nelly, Destiny's Child, Usher, Linkin Park, etc. Even if we give the record industry a major overhaul, it won't change the fact that what maybe cool today won't be cool 5 years from now. Michael Jackson may have to face the fact that even with a loyal fan base as big as Star Trek may have to make for a new bread of popstars. Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen Knows this;Tina Turner knows this; Heck, Frankie Beverly and Maze knows this. Here are some things you can't take away from Jacko. He raised the bar for making music videos. He donated to charity to ensure those less fortunate than him benefit. He knew how to put on stage, and the fans got their dollars worth. That's what made Michael so great. I feel that the child sex abuse charges from the past are the reasons Jacko is pissed off. Jacko's allegations against Sony need to be taken with a grain of salt. Let's hope this is a legit complaint, not another pr scheme!

will money remove the mental anguish suffered by said child?will money reverse time?no amount of money can do that.ive said it before and ill say it again homosexuality IS natural, humans have been doing it since they first crawled around this place, and some animals have sex with same sex animals, mainly monkeys

To respond to Mr. C: If my child was abused by a pedophile I'd want justice in the form of jail time and monies from a civil suit, too.

Posted by mr. c:
I don't think Jackson abused anybody. If he truly was a pedophile, I don't think the cops would have let him off so lightly. I have never heard of accusations being this serious to be dismissed so easily. I think Mikey got played by a money hungry family. Why else would they except money instead of convicting a so-called pedophile? Who is the freak, the man with a screwed up face, or the family that sells it's child for millions?

Simply put, the last paragraph of this article was beautiful. I look back at artist through the years who have left a mark and how they could competently compose and perform music and compare it to the garbage of our generation and I would like to cry. It would be nice to start better record labels which are more music labels, and concentrate more on the music than the record sales and hopefully promote some good music. But, this dream is far fetched, as music is very subjectively enjoyed. I hope at least for a downfall of the way things are now to a better system endorsing better artists creating better music.

A grown person who has sex with a child (be it homo or hetero) is a "pervo kiddie lover". Ever heard of the Age of Consent?

Posted by Mr. huh? saying, "My Generation Sucks!":
"Moral relativism" is morality relative to the situation, not the person themself. That's one of the biggest misconceptions about moral relativism. Also, the child isn't legally an adult and probably doesn't even realize the severity of the situation and the responsibility involved. There has been much scientific evidence over the years in favor of homosexuality, which is why society has come to embrace it. Society didn't just decide arbitrarily to embrace it. Society looked at the evidence and came to a logical conclusion.

Posted by Eagles:
We tolerate gay people but not pedophiles? Why can't we see that the lines of our standards are almost completely arbitrary. If a 13 year old boys has sex (willingly) with a freak like Jackson, how's that any worse than a 23 year old "man" having sex with Jackson? It's all unnatural, none of it is going to produce offspring, but hell if they aren't hurting anybody they should be allowed to do what they want; they are, after all, both consenting to it. So please Lithium Bliss, if you are going to tolerate gay people, don't go around calling pedophiles "pervo kiddie lovers" because in this age of moral relativism, who are you to judge?

Posted by SMIC:
$25 million $25 million $25 million $25 million ? Just think how many great albums from currently independant unknown bands could have been made for yes I will say it again $25 million yet Sony wasted this money producing an album made by a washed up child-molesting circus freak while many a brilliant musican asks "do you want fries with that?"

Posted by SMIC:
The record industry is exploitative to all artists.. the failings of the indusry are besed on lack of creative thinking. MJ was for a long time an industry darling he has made many millions at the hands of rec. execs. he is in no position to complain. Aimee Mann and other artist took action.. it is the creative independent artists who get screwed every day. Accuse the indusry of what it is truly guilty of which is narrowminded thinking not racisim.

Posted by pick:
First and foremost, good article. Second, Jackson is pulling a McCartney. Two years back, when Metallica attacked Napster, Sir Paul, with his fledgling career intact, started crying wolf and demanded that Napster stop sharing Beatles' tunes. Obviously, this was a tactic similar to Jacko's, and as time passed people forgot about Paul's big stink. Jackson complains too much, and if I remember correctly his album received the most advertising dollars of any album released in the fiscal year of 2001. It trumped Ozzy, *NSync and Linkin Park. The race card doesn't work, either, because Sony has quite a few urban "artists" signed. Yes, Tony Mottola isn't my favorite, either, but Jacko picked one fight he can't win.

Anybody else notice that Rutger Hauer looks just like Ellen DeGeneres?

Posted by Mr. huh? saying, "My Generation Sucks!":
My mom pointed out that maybe his financial problems are due to the fact that he owns his own ranch, amusement park, etc.

Posted by Dirt2980:
Anybody else notice that Michael Jackson looks like a beaten orphan, early 1900's woman with a cap on on the front page of this site?

Posted by 5 Against One:
" Jacko " is broke, according to Fox News he owes SONY $200 million. He has used all of his music rights ( including the beatles catalog ) as collateral. He had better sell Fairyland and all of those animals. He'll be on Hollywood and Vine selling himself for beer money soon, LOL, what an a**hole!

Posted by Jackson's 5"2:
Why is he above criticism? If you f*ck up your appearance via plastic surgery, marry Elvis' daughter for show and refuse to grow musically you're bound to be stoned! As for his pedophilia: I don't know whether or not he's guilty, but his being called a homosexual and a pedophile may be attributed to his freaky appearance than his FORMER color of skin.

Mikey, you wouldn't like me - I'm 37. At least 30 years too old.

ill take one million, maybe a little lower,i desperatly need some money.jackson has become a sad sad manchild

This circus freak should be in jail for hurting that little kid in the first place. He has also commited the ultimate racsist act by bleaching himself.

What is the big deal with this man? I never understood all the hype. He had some good songs when he was a kid and with the rest of his family. I hope he goes down for what he did to those little kids.

NAH NAH FCUK MY BROTHER. ILL DO IT FOR 10 MILLION. 5 MILLION. FREE. ILL PAY YOU.

Posted by Michael Jackson:
What are you talking about??? I'm black, I'M BLACK!!! Ok LithiumBliss, bend over. GREENMUSE, 15 million?

Posted by Scott Stapps Ego:
Nobody in the music industry is trying to rip off black artists, they are trying to rip off everyone.

Posted by Dreamy Rover:
He's just been rehashing his old set of tunes & beats in making his recent albums HIStory & INVINCIBLE... and now it's all fading away... and MJ doesn't just live in the real world... he never 'grew' up mentally & can't handle any damn crisis. That's just it: He can't come to terms with his album's failure... not only that, it's highly unlikely the MJ fever will ever rise again... so his future ain't going anywhere either... he's a gone duck...

Posted by LadyMuck:
This is an interesting article. I don't think racism plays a role in Jackson's case. I agree with the rest of you...his album sucked, he's washed up. It's over, dude...let go! And yes, I too, thought MJ was white now anyway. He is a perfect example of an artist who should have retired years ago. When is the last time you heard a good song come outta him? And now he's got Cochran on his side? This can only spell disaster.

Posted by Mr. huh? saying, "My Generation Sucks!":
Actually tons of money can convince people to have an interest in a CD if it's part of a new trend, new artist, who's young and normal-looking. How else do you think teen pop became so big? Unfortunately, MJ has been around a long time, isn't on some new trend, and isn't all that young and normal-looking anymore. And since when does the Music Industry specifically target blacks to screw over? I thought that the Music Industry was an equal-opportunity-screw-the-artist-over industry.

Posted by GREENMUSE:
hell for 20 million jacko could bum bugger me.michel mus have blinders on,he last few albums havent sold very well at all,at least here in the states.i always kinda figured he was big in japan,or belgium.but 2mil worldwide.sheesh.iactully didnt know he even released an album recently.and racism must be the reason it didnt sell well.yeah racism.

Posted by LithiumBliss:
I want to have anal sex with Jackson.

Posted by LithiumBliss:
If Jackson was a gay guy, it would be no big deal to me, or to the biz itself. There are many successful gay artists. No, what Jacko the Wacko is - is a child molester. No, I have no solid proof, but check this out: If I was a public figure accused of the heinous crime of pedophilia, I would DEMAND my day in court. Mikey paid the family $20 mil to shut up. That's the actions of a GUILTY ASS SUMBITCH! And as far as Sony sabotaging his CD, I too remember the mega hype about his then-pending release. No one bought it because he is irrelevant now. Bob Mould is queer but I'll buy Husker Du. I respect the talent of the early Elton John - another smuggler. But a pervo kiddie lover - I'd buy none of the CDs. Plus let's not forget the real reason it didn't sell - because it blew goat schlong. Jackson doesn't have a legal leg to stand on. And if he's screaming racism, why did he bleach himself WHITE? He is nothing but a useless freak who should be either ignored or incarcerated. MICHAEL JACKSON BLOWS!!!

Posted by Byter:
I'm sure Sony sent threatening letters to everyone in the world telling them not to buy the freak's album. I knew it was in stores; a trillion dollars in promotion wouldn't make me buy it though. The release was announced all over on t.v. ... I saw his video being broadcast several times. I mean, who didn't know his album was out? Basically, it sounds like he thinks gargantuan sums of money can pursuade people to buy music in which they have no interest. I saw a black reporter from Rolling Stone magazine on t.v. sum it up with, "his album sucked and nobody bought it." I guess he's a racist too.

Posted by 5 Against One:
This is all painfully obvious, MJ is going broke ( it's been rumored in the industry for some time ) and he is looking for a scapegoat to take the heat for the fact that his last album sucked. SONY ponied up $55 million to promote the static MJ recorded, doesn't sound racsist to me. Of course artists get hosed, but it's all of them, not just blacks. MJ has alligned himself with Sharpton, that instantly kills any credibility he had. MJ is heading for a major meltdown. He has always had the cash to insulate himself from reality, now he may have to face it. It seems he could use the $20 million he paid that little kid that he hurt. MJ is a freak and btw, he's WHITE now too.
