Ernie Halter - Congress Hotel Review

by Sherrill Fulghum

.
The native Californian's dream is not to be signed to a major record label but to be able to go on tour using a bus instead of the van he presently uses. Singer, songwriter, and pianist Ernie Halter says that you've made it as a famous person when people recognize you in the airport.

Halter started piano at age eight and began writing songs at age 15. But Halter says that the first time he played before an audience he was terrified. Well, he was in the second grade. The next time he played before an audience the results were much better; he was 17 and it was at a local coffee shop. Even though Halter had been writing songs since he was a teen, he was a human juke box playing everybody else's stuff until just a few years age. Halter, who is constantly on tour, says that MY Space has been great for his music. In fact, his friends list on the website top 65,000 people.

Halter's album "Congress Hotel" contains 12 tracks, a number of which are Halter compositions. The songs on "Congress Hotel" are not necessarily songs that will rattle around in your head for days, but somehow the songs still stick with you.
