Godhead - The Shadow Realigned

.
Godhead's The Shadow Realigned is a friends-with-benefits kind of thing because it includes 14 unique remixes provided by 14 different producers. Headed up by Jason Miller (the act's lead singer and songwriter), Godhead first came to the public's attention via its relationship with Marilyn Manson. And like Marilyn Manson, this act combines industrial, electronic and just a touch of Goth to create its unique, desperate sonic style. It's toured with the aforementioned Marilyn Manson, as well as a few wildcards, like Linkin Park and GWAR.

This entertaining, 17-track release includes some curious inclusions. For instance, "Unrequited," (reconfigured twice in the set) is remixed one time by Ben Moody, whom you may recall as the co-founder, lead guitarist and songwriter for the band Evanescence between 1995 and 2003.

The album also sports two possible indications of Godhead's musical influences. One is a full-on metal re-do of recent Hall of Fame inductee KISS's "God of Thunder." The act also gives us a heavier version of Depeche Mode's "Never Let Me down Again." Lastly, there is one brand new track, "To Heal," which finds Miller singing with a menacing, Soundgarden-meets-Alice In Chains grunge voice.

With its vast variety, The Shadow Realigned is a worthy band introduction especially for those that may be just now catching up with the act.
