Onionface - Roll Over, Dog... And Run!

.
Onionface is a band for those who may have found The White Stripes a little too on the delicate side. This trio loves its blues, but it also digs the raunchy and the raw and Roll Over, DogAnd Run! Is an album that brings back glorious rock & roll noise, similar to the way the grunge era gave glam metal a swift kick in the butt once it assumed the rock & roll throne in the mid-90s.

These sonic Neanderthals are actually from the relatively polite Ottawa, ON, but you'd likely never guess this. One pictures vocalist Stefan Jurewicz belting out (most all) these ten tracks fully bare-chested and victorious. Jurewicz is assisted by Calvin McCormic on bass and Jon Schultz at the drums.

For "Long Haired Bald Guy," the act unplugs dramatically for a folksy, acoustic number. It's a light skip and a jump, yet these musicians sound perfectly comfortable in their alternate skins. But then "Ramblin'" rumbles out of the speakers next, like Tarzan ready to show off, and all is as it was again.
