The Kinks are more than a classic rock
band they are an institution. No matter what the decade or what the current
trend may be, this band has always managed to stay on the cutting edge
of music, whether it was good or bad. When you mention the Kinks most people
think of the classics like You Really Got Me and Lola but they soon forget
other songs like Come Dancing which propelled their return to the top of
the charts in the early 80s, the soul searching melodic Dave Davies classic
Living on a Thin Line and the quasy punk rocker Destroyer. Ok they had
some clunkers along the way when they experimented with disco on "I Want
to Fly like Superman", but if youre a serious rock fan there is a lot
to love about the music of the Kinks from every era of the group. This
collection has most of the hits plus some rare live tracks that make it
a great addition to any rock fan's CD library.

This is a great album featuring songs from other great albums. They are the best band of all time. I think "Superman" is one of their best songs!

I love the kinks. lots. I actually like superman, whereas destroyer seems like a re-hash of all day and all of the night (which could be thought of as a better version of you really got me in some bits / ways)
