With Pinhead you get what you'd expect
from a band named after a character from the "Hellraiser" movie franchise;
seriously intense and heavy music. If there is such a thing as nu-speed-metal
then these guys qualify. Plenty of power chords, primal vocals and machine
gun like precision drumming make up the largest portion of the songs, but
they also change things up a bit with a slower feel with No Escape (Reality)
which forgoes the power chords for a ska-reggae guitar sound. But they
go for maximum rock with tracks like Puppet, Defy Myself and Conformity.
They mix it up pretty good with a nu-metal feel and some classic metal
riffage thrown in. Not your typical cookie cutter nu-metal band they
encompass what's cool with the modern metal scene and the classic venom
of bands like Slayer and Pantera.
