Americas favorite trailer park rapper/pimp is back, and he comes armed with...a CONCEPT ALBUM?!?! Yeah it seems the "Early Morning Stoned Pimp" has ditched some of his NuMetal tinges and come back with a SouthernRapRock Album.
Now, don't get me wrong..there are parts of this album that show signs of the Kid Rock of old, but if you buy this don't expect another "Bawitaba", this album is more "Only God Knows Why", only without the echo effect on his voice. It seems that Rock was trying to channel parts of ZZ Top, Skynyrd and Hank Jr when he was in the studio doing this one, and he more or less pulls it off without sounding corny while doing it.
Of course, anybody who says they're "Part old George Jones, part Jay Z" is bound to put a little big of that good ol braggin on the album, and of course he does. The title track delivers the expected dose of ego..but it's ego you can tolerate. But, then again, anyone banging this generations Marilyn Monroe (he's dating Pam Anderson) is entitled to a little bit of ego at least.
Basically, go out and get this CD if you're
a Kid Rock fan. If you're not, hell give it a shot, you never know, you
might like it.
