While I never claimed to know much about
Punk, I do know enough to tell you that The Damned is the real-deal unlike
the numerous name-number pop bands going around calling themselves punk.
Here the Damned explore the boundaries
of punk, bringing in elements of power-pop (song.com) and David Bowie (Thrill
Kill) with rockabilly (She) and classic punk (Lookin For Action). Over
all, this album shows that the Damned is as relevant today as they were
when they took the world by storm back in 1977. It also further disproves
the old misnomer that punk bands dont have to know how to play their instruments.
Serious punk fans will find a lot to love
here; hell you cant go wrong with The Damned.

more accurately that would be called a swamp boogie riff, not a rockabilly riff on the song she. it may as well have been the soundtrack music to the adam sandler movie The Waterboy.

I've always liked metal a lot more than punk, but I love this band, and it's great to see new stuff from them. I hope all this punk poser shyt like Blink 182 fades out and this takes over.
