Japanese rockers The Mad Capsule Markets take industrial metal to the extreme with this EP. If this 3-song collection is any indication of the band’s full-length debut album, the U.S. is in store for a full frontal musical assault paling in contrast to Pearl Harbor. Think Rage Against the Machine meets Marilyn Manson and you will have a feel for the CD opener (pulse), for the second track they mix Rob Zombie with Slayer on fast-forward, creating a fast moving pulsing new sound unheard on America’s shores up to this point.  Listening to this disc is like having your brains scrambled with an egg beater and I mean that in a good way, it’s mad scientist collection of sounds, guitars and wind tunnel vocals will give anyone interested in compelling new music forms pause to take notice.

Words can’t really convey what The Mad Capsule Markets sound like, you will have to experience this band for yourself to get a true measure of what’s going on here. It will blow your fragile little mind.

The Mad Capsules cannot be pidgeon-holed. They are unique. Most other bands can be categorised, but the Capsules are in a league of their own, definately. Tracks like Island or Step in Yourself chill, while others Like Restart or Chaos Step make you want to thrash your room up or play Burnout3. I love the Capsules! They're the only musical group I really care about! Nothing compares!

The MCM are so awesome, I don't know how they are, but they are. So addictive, like a mix of Atari Teenage Riot, Fear Factory and Kittie - add in some punk and voila. My favorite songs by them are "Tribe", "Pulse", "Multiplies", "All The Time In Sunny Beach", "Island", "Step Into Yourself", "Good Girl" and "MIDI Surf"

"...a bunch of insane Japanese dudes with more energy than a three year old on crack." Hahah.. love it! This is the most original album I have heard in many a year... scared the crap outta my hifi :)

It's good to hear a fresh sound for once. I could listen to pulse all day, haha! It's good stuff, unlike anything you've heard before.

Who cares what you classify it as? From my experience The Mad Capsule Markets are a genre defying combination of digital manifestations mixed in with a damn loud drum kit, quite a nice guitar and a bunch of insane Japanese dudes with more energy than a three year old on crack. I'm unsure whether this is stuff you should listen to or bury in concrete in case it does any more damage to your eardrums but in all honesty, I don't really care - I'm quite happen to ruin my hearing if it will improve my awareness of what a decent sound actually is. No bitching about what anybody else has said - but damn is that a decent sound! If you don't agree, feel free to e-mail me @ el_bob_smith@hotmail.com

    Posted by Mike:
how could you give this shyt a good rating I know morons like dave like it but come on ag we expect more from you!

    Posted by Dave:
You UTTER arsehole! Rage against the machine meets marylin manson?! PULSE??! Is RATM or mayrilin PUNK?! i think NOT. You do a real injustice to the markets. They are one of the best bands i know, and to compare them to goth rock is actually like calling the beatles the same sounds as cradle of filth. next time you reveiw, you get someone who has LISTEND to the cd. It is digi punk, NOT manson. you tit.
