Through the years Corrosion of Conformity
have put out some high-octane studio albums but the real power of the band
lies with their live performances. Witnessing this powerhouse band live
is the only real way to experience the true intensity of their music. Lucky
for us they have unleashed the live COC experience on their new CD “Live
Volume”.
The band’s concert at Harpo’s Concert Theatre
on April 20, 2001 was captured for posterity and is now the definitive
COC live album. The album contains some amazing live performances of old
favorites like “These Shrouded Temples...” Vote With A Bullet”, “Albatross”,
“Senor Limpio”, “My Grain”, “Long Whip/Big America” and “King of the Rotten”
as well as tracks from their latest studio album America’s Volume Dealer
including “Congratulations Song”, “Zippo” and “Diablo Blvd”.
While listening to a CD is no where near
the same as actually being at a concert, COC did a great job of capturing
the energy of their live performances on this disc. The bottom line is
this CD is a must have for any serious COC fan. If you are not familiar
with COC “Live Volume” would be an excellent way to get acquainted with
what the band is all about. As far as live CD’s go this is one of the best
to hit the shelves in the past couple years.
