In October Ozzy Osbourne’s Divine Recordings
will release Mototrax 1, not surprisingly many of the artists featured
are Ozzfest veterans. The album kicks off with Electric Heart from Pure
Rubbish a band that blends metal and punk and ends up somewhere in the
middle. From there we get some nu-metal powerhouses checking in with live
or remixed tracks. From the live archives Disturbed delivers “Stupify”
and Static-X contributes “Burning Inside”. Remixes include Slipknot’s
“Sic”, Cold’s “Just Got Wicked” and Mudvayne’s “Dig”. Other notable
tracks, “Flirtin’ with Disaster” from Nashville Pussy, Union Underground’s
“Natural High”, “Terrorist” from Soulfly and a trippy cover of the Black
Sabbath classic “War Pigs” from Slaves on Dope.
Bottom line: if you are into the current
direction of nu-metal you will find lots to love here. Think of this as
a “Now That’s What I Call Music” compilation for the current popular hard
rock scene.
