Elvis Costello fans have I got great news
for you, Elvis returns in rare form with When I was Cruel. This
album proves that even after all these years, Elvis hasnt lost his touch
and this desperately anticipated album should satisfy even the most diehard
fans.
Its all here, the melodic sensibilities
that put Elvis on the map, the creative genius that we have come to expect
from his songwriting and music that flirts with the edges of many genres
of music. Sure Elvis has given us some good stuff over the past few years
with his collaboration with other artists but that special something he
can only deliver on his own was missing from those projects, but now the
wait is over.
Let's face few artists who have a career
as long as Elvis has can still produce work that is on the same level as
the early work that made them stars. With this new album what you get are
fifteen tracks of pure Elvis. So there is hope for music in the year 2002,
hats off to yet another Liverpool lad who made good!
