This is James from Depswa typing from the road.  We're on our way to Scranton, PA. where we play Ozzfest tommorrow.  We have been keeping close proxemity with our brothers in Memento since we left Columbus, OH. last night after a raging party in the "yard" brother!  The last couple of weeks have been very eventful for Depswa including the hottest show we've ever played which was an offdate in La Crosse, WI at the Wharehouse or as we have coined it " the Stairhouse" due to the staircase of about sixty steps, the only way to load gear in or out of the venue.  However, it wasn't just the venue that made it such a memorable experience but the people that came out to show to support these four very greatful bands Depswa, Memento, Unloco and Fixface.  The energy projected by the band came back ten fold from the audience creating a proper rock show with plenty of sweat and fists flying.  A very sincere thanks go's out to La Crosse.  Revolution Smile finished the tour early to go out with A Perfect Circle and Deftones which is great for them.  The departure of Rev. Smile allowing space for our friends from Cleveland, Chimaira the new addition to the second stage.  The Verizon Ampitheatre show in Indianapolis couldn't have been a better day for Chimaira to start the tour because the second stage area filled up quicker than any previous dates and these people definitely came to party and see a heavy show.  Very cool.  That is it for now.  There is talk of organizing a bowling tournament between a bunch of second stage bands.  Should be an interesting evening.  Later. I know I say this every show, but it was fucking hot man. 115 degrees, that is no heat you want to play in let me tell you. Today was the day that we opened the show, we started playing at 9:30 AM so the heat wasn't to insane. I felt bad for the dudes in Cradle of Filth, those motherfuckers wear full leather with boots and makeup and god knows what else is under there cloths. So what do you do when your band plays first thing in the morning? Nothing you hang out and chill with your friends all day because that is what Ozzfest is all about. For the most part of the day we hung out with Marilyn Manson’s dancers. Those are some of the coolest girls on earth and they are great performers. Our bus call was early because our next Offest show was like 800 miles away......How Sweet. Man Love, Chris & Hotwire

7/17/03 St. Louis, MO

You know those days where you just have a weird feeling but you don't know what it is that you are feeling weird about. I had that day, I woke up in my bunk all frantic and shit like sweating, I hate that feeling. We played second today so I was up bright and early. I watched Memento's set and it rocked, they opened the show and we were right after them. So I'm guessing the funny feeling i had was my gear wasn't working. It's insane dude on Ozzfest you have 5 Min. set changes so you better hope your gear is working, and of course mine wasn't. What a shitty feeling it is when your equipment doesn't work and your a complete retard like me and you have no clue how to fix it. Lucky it was only my wireless that wasn't working, I fixed that then proceeded to fuck the crowds mind with my bass lines....JOKING, Gosh can't you take a joke!!! Steve from Ampeg was at the show and they had brought a bunch of new gear and they had guitars, bass's, drums Etc. It was so funny, I started a band with Vanessa, Manson's dancer, some motherfucker with 5 teeth and me, Unfortunately after the jam session we broke up. Thanks to all who came and supported our band, we never had a name but I think we had a pretty big impact on the music scene. I love your smile, Chris & Hotwire
