I am so glad I found this site. I just spent the whole day here checking things out and then I find this! WOW this place rocks! Keep speaking the truth and promoting REAL music. Peace

Rokkit
Goto HardRadio, check out new music, especially the tune called "Alien Romper Room" by the band Britton. This is straight ahead guitar rock and roll. I think all music has its time and place, but I definately agree with supporting the unknown bands that are not signed by the big labels. The suits are only worried about profit not creativity.

HammerFall Rulz
I totally agtee with you Anti-Guy. One of best metal bands I have ever heard, HammerFall, I found on the net. As for MTV I stopped watching them years ago when they cancelled HeadBanger's Ball. I haven't listened to radio im years due to that fact I listen what I want to hear and not what some corporate freak tells me is good. Taped cd's are a good thing hehehe. And as far as these rap/noise bands are concerend. Their no talent butts will be outta here when people finally realize they can't play worth a damn. Band hype really isn't about how many times your video is played on MTV, or what kind of clothes you wear. All that matter is the MUSIC, and since rap/noise have none of that, they will be over soon.

Susie!!!
i agree one hundred percent!!!! Be original, my little children!

Daniela
I totally agree with him. He's hit it right on! Also, one more thing, the album you hear on top 40 radio is not necessarily the groups first album!

s8ist
It really gets my $%#$ in a knot when people can diss on rock music.Rock music influenced the music we have today!

s8ist
To say that you do not care that rock is dying shows that you blow corporate, right-wing @#$% and you do a very good job at it.I do not want to be surrounded by a nation of people whose primary concerns lie in what Abercrombie and Fitch shirt looks best on them.

s8ist
Or a country where music's depth goes only so far to please 12-year old girls, and the rest of us have to tolerate the horrid noise pollution. It is going to far. Guys are starting to listen to the mainstream because they know it's the only way they can get play! How pathetic.

s8ist
Has music really lowered its level of importance as a respected, deep expression of emotions? It just may have.I can only be so happy that a few bands retain that recognition in the mainstream who so deserve it, but unfortunatley are only there because MTV declares issues of what's hot and what isn't.

s8ist
Grampa X, Korn is technically rock, so get your head out of your @$$.

Robert
Rock might just be saved.Marilyn Manson has lost the techno and is back with his Antichrist Superstar style with Astonishing Panorama of The Endtimes.Hole has a new track reminiscent of Live Through This called Be A Man.Smashing Pumpkins have a rocking new album coming up,which will sadly be there last.Radiohead will have a new cd soon that will hopefully rock. And finally Garbage has a b-side album with unrealeased, debut album styled tracks and they announce that they plan thier 3rd album to be more simple, more like the first, but not too much.Bush and NIN are keeping in the spirit also.It is bands like these that will hopefully help in the salvage of Rock music and not Korn and stupid music like that.

Very cool. I agree about the MTV thing. I haven't been able to watch that channel since 120 min. stopped playing the good stuff back in '90. They should definatly stick to their name too, "Music" TV.

Grampa X
Who cares if rock is dead, I don't consider new music rock anyway. It is much better and has left rock in the dust. Besides rock isn't dead, it has just been renamed "Young Country" (a.k.a. "Southern Rock"). BTW, Korn hasn't sold out. The reason they are so popular is because so many people identify with the honesty of their "Issues".

Michelle
Boy, I had really felt alone until now! Thank goodness someone else is not afriad to speak their mind and not just sit back and take what the media hands to us and expects the public to enjoy as if it were their idea! It only takes a few people to make a difference!

Pivkhan
It's nice to hear yet another person that's tired of comercial music... then again... my tip is, don't exagerate it. Being anti-commercial can sometimes be commercial if taken the wrong way. But i think you know that. Keep up the great work anyhow

Newdreamer
Hey MAN, I agree with you. I mean, those are some pretty cool bands, but putting them on the radio nonstop exposes them to watery pll who need new bands every week!! It's just gonna end their careers...

a loyal follower
The great one has spoken again...... All hail AntiGuy..... amen

Chez
autum there is a cure for your problem - it's called a labotomy

Autum
here u go again picking on the Backstreet Boys again. get over it they are the best just admit it antiguy.

t money
ive been thinkin the same thing about bands for a while now...if your on top 40 consistently than you have sold out..sorry limp bizkit and korn, although your music isnt that bad, its true...listen to bands that work to get fame, not just have a hott singer, MTV ius responsible for the demise of good bands

Rory
I'm with you antiguy! I am so sick of MTV and the media telling me what's cool. give me antimusic or give me death!

MAN
The radio station here plays Godsmack, Offspring, Creed, and a bunch of other _Sh it_ nonstop.UGH!!! Thank G O D for antimusic.com!!!!!!

Newdreamer
antiTED, who are you? You cool!

satan
i agree with every one of those.....but we could just kill off all the others and not have to worry about anything..

antiTED
Dude you are so right. I just read the articles here on the biggest sellers of last year and the grammy nominations and guess what? its basically the same list. Radio and MTV are making these bands big stars, if people hear all the great "real" rock that is out there both of those list would be very different. I'm with you brother in this fight to BRING ROCK BACK AND TO TAKE BACK THE MUSIC BUSINESS FOR MUSICIANS!

Tell me about it!! MTV has gone down the pan. Those guys are insane: We're getting new artists who are just 16, with no seriious future in the music world exept as the next Cher...and they don't even sound good! We have to keep individualism alive, isn't that what Rock is all about?

nancy spungeon
you're totally right!!! even big "rock" bands today don't care anymore! and big music industrys put genres on bands like you lable your underwear (what i mean by that is: you choose an undy and you put monday on it even if its not different from the other undies)like limp bizkit aren't they rappers? and to answer mike : go to concerts shuffel in your friends cd case risk yourself to buy an album of a band you've never heard of (yes it can be expensive) ask people in chat , surf on the net...

jewel
i have printed out your top5 ways to save rock and am gonna make them my ten commandments! I 100%relate to what ur saying

Sam
Yeah I know about the artist of the month, thats how i found out about Neurotica, but they just need a list of a bunch of good ones.

Kreator
Hey Sam, dude they do have indy bands here. they focus on one indy band a month its called artist of the month. So far I have liked most of their picks. A couple kind of blew but most of the time they are better than the cr@p on the radio. Hope that helps

Sam
this site should have a list of good indy bands and where we can sample their music, if you want to save rock you should help do it more.

Pete
Listen to your heart, not radio.....

Dave
If u want to get indy music, find them on the net and get their music on napster

jimbo
yo antiguy you da man. i already do all of these things and i agree with you 100 percent

Mike
You did a good job of pointing out what's wrong. But where can we hear new bands if not on MTV or radio?
