i think that the person with all these
comments has to be a white person and to stereotype rap music is the same
as stereotyping rock n roll which some say a black man started first and

just one side note: have you noticed that
all these anti-rap people are usually those 80's hair metal fans? getting
to the real point of what i have to say. it takes alot of talent to rap.
it takes alot of talent to chant to a beat and express yourself. it's like
giving a public speach to rythym. not everybody could give good public
speaches, and good public speaches are works of art. DMX is a good example
of a rapper that is an artist rather than an image peddler. he puts his
emotions into his music, and in sync to the beat. it's alot more than what
any boy bands could do, so therefore, it's music in it's own right. if
something can't be easily done by a boy band very well, it is music.

especially underground- mercilessly mock the mainstream losers with uncreative
lyrics. If an MC rhymes 'yo' with 'ho' (or 'trigga' with 'nigga'), they'll
get laughed at. 4: That's not a trend limited to rap, I'm sorry. (coughcoughOASIScough)
3: If you can identify a single song sampled in Heiroglyphics' "Third Eye
Vision" or DJ Shadow's "Entroducing", you win a cookie. And like the last
poster mentioned, plenty of rock acts steal riffs or even songs wholesale
(Led Zeppelin rears t have no talent or musical ability have never heard
the Beastie Boys, Wyclef, The Roots, Outkast, Wu Tang, etc. You also forget
that rock got started by white boys "rippin off" black R&B, so why
can't rap take some back?

most people listen to it because it makes them happy. some people like
to listen to rap, some don't. i think it sucks like a horny monkey, but
that's just me. those of you defending it wouldn't know your ass from a

Yeah there's one other thing l.o.s., you
actually have to have some talent to be a rock star. See rock stars are
musicians, not just some losers playing around on a synthesizer (rap).
Yeah may have understandable vocals (depends on the rapper) but that's
all. Other then that its just people talking fast with the lyrics of a
2nd grade level poem, while the simple beat and melody are played on a
computer. Please tell me where in all of that there is ANY talent involved
whatsoever. the ability to rhyme is the closest thing you can fall back
on and that isn't hard at all, certainly not nearly as hard as pulling
off a guitar solo. Most rock stars have better lyrics anyways (except for
glam) and on top of that they actually sing them (unless its a metal band).

Also wondah woman, you can claim bashing rap is racist but it just shows
you can't really defend the "music" so you are trying to turn it into a
race issue. Besides I like jazz and the blues, predominantly black genres,
I'll listen to any music with some talent and ability needed in making
