I just went to Vh-1.com and I found out that is going to be BTM on Nirvana on 7/21 at 9 pm. Of course this can just be a rumor considering I heard it from a discussion room. After No Doubt, Ricky Martin, and the FREAKIN' Partridge Family get a BTM before Nirvana, or even the FREAKIN' Sex Pistols there is obviously something wrong with the world.

JP
Not everyone could relate, but I would be enraptured by a Smiths/Morrissey BTM.

JP
They've already had one on Fleetwood Mac. How about U2?

Joel C.
What about KISS??????

Fatty McMaster
I'm not positive but I believe I saw the Sex Pistols on a BTM. They should have one on Nirvana, and the best real punk band of all time NOFX.

Greg Norman
Guns N' Roses, Who wouldn't want to know what happened to greatest singer guitarist combination in history?

Jonnie B
They need to do one on W.A.S.P. Slipknot, MArilyn Manson would be nothing if WASP didn't set the standard first.

Rhiannon
They already did a BTM on Fleetwood Mac...it was the third one ever done, I believe

Zadoc
It would never happen (unless they skipped around AXL) but I agree GNR would be a very good pick...How 'bout Siouxie and the Banshees, Michael Jackson (or the whole #@!! family), or Devo?

Ed
2 words - VAN & HALEN. Here is a group that screams for a Behind the Music episode. The groundbreaking guitar playing of Edward Van Halen and the showmanship of David Lee Roth, the brown M&M's, the lead singer changes, the record-breaking US Festival appearance, over 60 million albums, the botched DLR reunion, etc., etc. Sh@t, I could go on forever. A Van Halen BTM would rule.

Lex Luther
Okay we have a problem guys or gals Martina doesn't seem to get the point of this list. "Destinys Child" is not Rock'N'Roll nor do they do drugs and maybe they do have sex in the Champagne room, but it ain't public so Martina please come of age on your debauchery

Lex Luther
Where in "Web" is Mr. Anti-Guy/Guru Himself. So what about the news on VH. is there any? I hope that VH1 doesn't do any on Kidd Frock, or Limbo Bizkito. MTV can do that one, I hope that VH1 has the integrity to keep it's docu's in the period of the 60's to the 93 period. Anything after that blooooows.

Lex Luther
Where in "Web" is Mr. Anti-Guy/Guru Himself.

MARTINA
DESTINYS CHILD

STYX
IT'S ABOUT TIME THAT ONE OF THE BIGGEST ROCK BANDS OF THE MID-LATE 70'S/EARLY 80'S GETS A VH-1 "BEHIND THE MUSIC" EPISODE! IT'S SLATED TO AIR 8/13/00 AT 9PM. STYX #1!

flame
hey azure they have already had alice cooper and tom petty waych the damn show and find out what you're talking about.......DUH.

Pinche Flojo
YEAH!! SEX PISTOLS RULE!!!

Gman
ZAPPA RULES!! Definitely BTM material. As for Van Halen, I think they tried, but Eddie's ego didn't fit on camera. P.S. To Antie Jean-Do you mean Adam Ant, the 80's band? Just curious....

Air_HEAD
I know this is like not relevant but I really believe that CREED really rocks. They have surpassed being labeled as hypcrites and a cover band for PJ. Let's all be real I mean Eddie use to be great but he totally s*cks now and with the release of thier current 'hit' you can just see their downfall. THEY should be on VHI behind the music. What with Eddie's drinking habit and the incredibe lost of his lyrical skills the show will be half an hour longer! Creed is a great band and I'm like so tired of hearing rock critics diss them repeatedly!Like what happened to having good morals in a song? oop forgot! This is 'rock-n-roll' in which good messages and great bands are disregarded! CREED WILL CONTINUE TO ROCK ON REGARDLESS!! I LOVE YOU SCOTTIE!

SOURCHUX
Do you rember that band Van Halen before Valerie Bertinelli castrated Eddie and hung his balls up over the mantle? I'm talking about back when his guitar playing redefined how guitar players play guitar! Every generation or every decade or so, produces a great band that has one thing in common. That thing is a great singer and guitar player songwriting team. In the 60's it was Mick and Keith. In the early seventies it was Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. In the late seventies/early eighties, it was Eddie and Dave. And finally, in the late eighties/early nineties it was Slash and Axl. Do You see the pattern here? All these songwriting teams were nothing short of brilliant in that true Rock And Roll sense. They're all phenomenal and all brilliant. I wish Eddie would pull his head outta his ass and get Dave back in the band. I think VH era Van Halen 1 thru Van Halen Fair Warning would be a Killer behind the music.

znuffFREAK!
My suggestions for BTM (not that piece of s**t BTM2): Cheap Trick / Stone Temple Pilots / Nine Inch Nails / Husker Du / Alice In Chains My suggestions for LEGENDS: Frank Zappa / Nirvana

Lex Luther
Thank You Azure, But I think "Mott The Hoople" was already on.

Azure
Oopsie.. heh.. let me try that again.. Steely Dan, Eagles, Allman Brothers, The Animals, Bad Company, David Bowie, The Cars, Ratt, Alice Cooper, Mott the Hoople, Foghat, Tom Petty, Foreigner, The Kinks, Bob Seger, GWAR, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins.. and I agree with Lex Luther on Van Halen. Unforgettable performance at the '83 US festival. Wish I was there again!

Azure
I don't believe a Behind the Music or Legends episode has been focused on the following, but should be considered.

BIBLE THUMPER
MXPX!!!!!! GOD RULES!!!! YAY!!!!

JIMBO
Cane is about as fake as a 3rd tittie!

Messenger of Fear
STP and Nirvana should truly get their own BTMs, but my personal desire is to see Alice in Chains. They have the total package of BTM material. They're my second favorite band. My favorite already has their own BTM, and that's the #2 voted best Behind the Music next to Shania Twain. How insulting, since her music is horrible and she seems to be too full of herself. I believe that Cane has heavy metal roots, I know he's good friends with Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield. I believe he somewhat stood up for them after he read what Nikki Sixx said about the Metallica/Napster situation. Good for Cane. Rock on everybody.

Lester
I think vh1 needs to do another BTM with Ricky Martin so he can continue to deny rumours of his gayness by parading that blonde chick that's supposedly his girlfriend(yeah, right). It's poetic justice, I think, that so many male sex icons in music and "boy band" members who receive such adoration from teenage girls always turn out to be gay.

dr fever
hey, aG, why is everything set to the left of the screen???

dr fever
earth crisis, snapcase, gorilla biscuts, FUGAZI!!! Most definatly FUGAZI!! They're one of the most inspirational bands in history and they've always stuck to there musical values......i say give 'em this at least, but they should really be on legends.

MasterOfPuppetz
They should make a legends for Nirvana, not behind the music, legends would give the band more credit, thats what they did led zepplin and the doors, there all bigger than behind the music

lex luther
Come On Now, Hellooo "Van Halen" Old and New, For the "demographics" Van Halen was there "Man" I mean the period of the "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" to all the greatness the "US" Festival had they were there for us, They are the ultimate 80's band that got us through those Pot smoking days, at the beach, or at the Valley. Bring em back, And what about Skid Row

"Antie" Jean
Adam and the Ants!!!!!

lollapaloozer
can't believe no one mentioned the late great Jane's Addiction...they started Lollapalooza before the overblown grunge period, and there's enough drama to fill a show. Chilli Peppers but no Jane's? Gimme a break!!!!

Dozer
Zappa

Marie Erickson
The doors, eagles, pinkfloyed, gogos banaramas, micklejackson, acdc, and all of the other rad ones.

coolest person
The beachboys,doors,eagles,pinkfloyd

reveresedecY
theyve done iggy pop, ao theyve kinda done the stooges

Michelle
How bout Aerosmith??? Now there's a story full of sex, LOTS of drug and rock n' roll!!!

Amy
definitely the sex pistols. I'd love to see one on The Stooges even more though, or the Dead Boys, New York Dolls, Television, or Nick Cave. Has there been one on The Cure?

SPRINKLE
WHAT ABOUT HANSON... I'M SURE THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE STORY ON HOW THEIR PARENTS SHOVED THEM IN TO SHOWBIZ

Brian
The reason why they haven`t done a BTM on Fleetwood Mac is because they already did one on Stevie Nicks...

I HAVE NO NAME
HOW ABOUT DEEP PURPLE,RAINBOW,IRON MAIDEN,SCORPIANS,AND ZZTOP

TWiStA200
I THINK THE FOLLOWING GROUPS WOULD BE PERFECT ARE : PINK FLOYD, THEY WERE THE BEST GROUP THAT SURVIVED THE DISCO CRAZE. SECOND FRANK ZAPPA, THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHY HE HASN'T HAD ONE YET. THIRD: KING DIMOND, WHY NOT HIM HE HAS A GOOD STORY SOMEONE IS GONNA WANNA HEAR IT. THE RAMONES WOULD BE COOL ALSO. AND FINALLY THIS GROUP IS SCREAMING OUT FOR ONE DEVO

BBGfromH.B.
I think Joe's got the right idea

Mega3
IRON MAIDEN... with the new album and upcoming tour, and vast history, they are a gimme for BTM greatness

Narcoleptic "G"
Hows about them Rolling Stones? or even that there Kieth richard fella?

SOURCHUX
Who the hell is the anti-guy?

reversedecay
come on. NINE INCH NAILS needs one. or PINK FLOYD. thats obvious. how 'bout ICE CUBE?

CAINE
Hey there Cookiepuss, You know I'm only in it for the money, It's a cool job that pays great, who cares about what I listen to on my own time?

LARDASS
S-L-A-S-H!!!!!!

joe
pink floyd, the beatles, and hendrix should all be on legends.

COOKIEPUSS
Is anyone out there besides myself, suspicious of that dude Caine who host VH-1's Rock show's real musical taste?

OTIS T. BARTHOLEMEW
DAVID LEE ROTH ERA VAN HALEN ONLY!! NO HAGAR!! NO VH-III GUY!! JUST DIAMOND DAVE!! DEFINITELY!! DAVE"THE REAL MUTHA F%CKIN DEAL" ROTH!! DEFINITELY!! THAT"S ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL AMERICA!!

DOG
I wouldn't mind seeing Alice in Chains on Behind the Music. That would be very interesting to see I bet.

CORNJULIO II
Which reminds me. How lame and how insulting is it to Jimi Hendrix and the millions of people who's souls he touched while here on earth, and the millions of souls he still touches today, for Behind the music or Legends to have not as of yet done episodes on Jimi? What an insult! Talk about overlooked and underrated! KILL VH-1!

CORNJULIO
Fleetwood mac has already been on VH-1 "legends", Which is basically the same only reserved for the more "Superstar" in status.

Master of Disaster
I think the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync deserve a Behind the music special so that we can finally expose them to the world for their obvious lack of real talent!

THE EVIL ONE
AC/DC BEHIND THE MUSIC IS COMING ON SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!BIG THANX TO ROCK SHOW FOR ENSURING THEY DID ONE!!!!!!!

Rhiannon
The Moody Blues are ver y under-rated! They are the best to listen to when getting low. I can't wait to see them this July!!

Eagles
Do one on AC/DC, there story is so cool. I like the letters sent to them that are shown on the inside of the High Voltage CD, they all seem like a bunch of drunk and disorderlies. Plus they have tons of famous material like Bon Scott dying in a pool of his own vomit, that famous killer in the 80's who blamed it all on the song "Night Prowler"(which is an awesome song), and also all the censorship stuff that happened to AC/DC after that and how the media accused them of devil worshipping and all. Plus their's career's peaked in 1980.

sarah
Nirvana! Why the hell haven't they done one one Nirvana? I think they should do more on bands that have been around for some time unlike Ricky martin. And also bands that are gone..for good...more of those!

chills
I personally think that Behind The Music is pretty much the death of a bands career. They did one on No Doubt, and while their career isn't over but it doesn't have the same spark that they once had. It's okay if they're positive the bands success has already peaked. Perfect bands that fit that category are Nirvana, Sublime, Soundgarden, and Guns n' Roses.

Nirvano
I think that Nirvana should be on it. And like other fans said Guns N Roses and REM should be there too. They have Fu@ing Ricky Martin and all gay people in those shows and how comoe they don't have Nirvana man! one of the best bands ever! that; wrong...

EmotionSickness
I think they should do one on HOLE, LessThanJake, Sum41, REM, GunsNRoses, I dont know if any of these were done but DAMMIT DO ONE ON HOLE!

a
The closest they came to a Nirvana BTM was dedicating an entire year, 1992. they can do better than that.

who cares?
EVERYONE IS RIGHT!

Starscream
I think all of those would be great, but the best one I can think of to go in there is Mayhem. Hardly anybody has ever heard of them, but they were one of, if not the, pioneers of black metal. Singers who kill themselves, bass players who kill guitar players, and the drugs, drugs, drugs.

The voice of reason
The Dead Kenedeys, Bad Religion, The Clash, Black Flag, and Anthrax

Grant
I CAN'T BELIEVE NOBODY THOUGHT TO DO ONE ON SUBLIME. THEY ARE GREAT AND HAVE WEIRD BIZARRE HISTORY. COME ON EVEN MTV DID A STORY ON BRAD NOWELL

Sammy
Seriously they need to do one on Smokey Robinson. that guy wrote most of the motown hits(4000 of them according to EW.com) and has an incredible life story.

Death's Head
S L A Y E R ~

spanky
Sorry, forgot White Zombie.

spanky
Primus, Tom Waits, Dead Kennedys, and Frank Zappa.

Mary-C
Primus... they are just too great!!

Hootie
Pearl Jam

Guns N roses
vh1 behind the music is the perfect show to tell us what really happened to the greatest band on earth

Metalheaded Juggalo
I very strongly think that they should do one (or 2) on the Golden Age of Heavy Metal

Babooncius
Any group/artists so deeply underground they are virtually unheard of. It would be amusing to see how many people would unanimously say "Who?" while watching Behind the Music.

abednego
The Beastie Boys. They've been one of the biggest musical influences of the last two decades.

Estranged
Guns N' Roses should have a behind the music. Each member of the band could fill up a whole hour easy with the wierd sh*t they did

Millie
Adam and the Ants

Mr. Anamonous
Just about every grunge band on earth.

Platypus
5. Soundgarden 4. Cheap Trick 3. Pearl Jam 2. Stone Temple Pilots 1. Van Halen - easily the best soap opera in rock and roll

BONGZO BONDADA
5.Cheap Trick- they are the Nirvana of the Mid- 70's and because of there dominating styles of pop/rock power pop new wave and hard rock and with no punk material involved with there work and no matter what music styles they have they still don't have cheesey wuss sounds of bands like Winger and Nelson do. 4. Bon Scott-He's the late great singer of the great Legendary Hard Rock Band AC/DC Who had a interesting music career and history before AC/DC and his death was such a mysterious alchol incident that had him choke and vomit to death is a damn shame and his memory will go down to becoming one of the most influental hard rock with such a great 70's punk back round of a voice before even Axl Rotten or Joey Ramone got big Bon Scott created a great vocal style that doesn't even make his replacement sound anything like him JUST LISTEN to T.N.T you'll hear what im saying 3.Black Flag-With punk roots and hardcore material they influenced many other artists that created alternative pop rock gods such as Sonic Youth and The Meat Puppets 2.Anthrax-The founders of both speed metal and Rap Metal even though its may seem like they started the whole thing with bizkit and korn but they don't sound anything like those rock wanna b's do 1.Syd Barrett-founder and former member pink floyd and leaving an indelible mark upon psychedleic and progressive rock Syd Barret was responsible of the brilliant song writing and work of pink floyds start to fame I have to agree with all of these picks. Good news they are doing an AC/DC episode. aG

newskin
Rush, Yes, Morrisey, Soundgarden, Phish

Dancerama
Sigue Sigue Sputnik ! Back from the Future so no better time for it!

~dr fever~
slayer...nirvana...alice in chains...and, slipknot (it would just be d@mn funny to see slipknot on VH1)

Ant Lady
Adam & the Ants!

Fi
I think they should Hole.I don't know if they did but it would be interesting to watch.

gemini gal
Adam Ant / Adam and the Ants

SurrealAnt
Adam Ant, Crowded House, Stone Temple Pilots

michael
how about the ramones, the clash, the new york dolls, the mc5, and the first (one of em at least) the stooges.

Madam Stan
ADAM & THE ANTS - if there's one way to get 'em to reform this has gotta be it!!!

Ant Ranger
Adam and the Ants!

The MASTER
Adam & the Ants should be on there, cos they deserve it !

Mandrake
ADAM & the ANTS

dimmaen
I think maybe Chuck Berry deserves one, I mean, he has done alot, and his music is absolutely great... So, why not?
