Pretty much my opinion I think all the pop artists should retire so the world of pop will come to the end. But people Metallica and Aerosmith roxs. Legends never quit or die!

So who needs millions of dollars when you can have 'pretty polly'. Those long winter evenings must just fly by.....

Godsmack's new track on THE SCORPION KING is cool. Unfortunately I haven't been able to appreciate their other stuff. But I do think they can churn out better songs than they have already have been. Yeah, BON JOVI is someone I'd like to see retire. Not U2 or METALLICA or OZZY! Ozzy's music still packs a nuclear punch. METALLICA is all set to unleash an earthquake with their new album. U2 is one good sounding inspirational band. Whose performance was the best & exciting at the Grammies, where you had a gourmet of all kinds of music being performed by all kinds of artists? U2 took the cake! Why? Because WALK ON was pure unadulterated straight-in-the-face Rock.

in no specific order because they need to get out quickly....5.)Bon Jovi 4.)Poison 3.)Nsync 2.)Backstreet Boys 1.)Britney Spears (once her poularity fades I predict that Playboy will pay her $500,000 for a pictorial.)

5 - Rolling Stones 4 - Journey (unless they get Perry back) 3 - Kiss 2 - Poison (not that anyone knows they're still around but they are) 1 - Motley Crue (haven't done anything worthwhile since 1989)

!.destiny's Child,it's not so much that they're bad(which they are)as I'm sick of Beyonce's ego and her hypocritical "christian" beliefs While she shakes her below average looking ass for money.2.They're are many bands like Def Leppard, Ratt,Dokken,Ozzy,Rush,And Aerosmith who if they sang from the heart and stopped trying to second guess the public to ride fad waves.Rush and Ratt are probably the most influential bands to me personally but Rush's formula of songwriting no longer works.Geddy can't seem to find a melody he hasn't used already and the feel of the new songs don't match the lyrics. Warren De Martini Of Ratt was my favorite metal guitarist but the "yellow" comeback album had almost no solos whatsoever just like Rush's current album and "test For Echo" didn't.I believe that Ratt's "collage" album and Rush's "Counterparts albums were proof they could still do it so why don't they?.3.U2-Achtung Baby and Joshua tree are the only decent albums they released in the last twenty years.Shut up Bono you drunk egotistical bastard!!!!4.P.O.D,Linkin Park.No rapping pot smoking "christians and no rapping poseurs period.5.Kid rock, Korn, Puddle of mudd. Will all the white trash, wife beating, geeky disgustoids please give up.I think we're gonna have a problem here.Oh yeah and will The ugly guy from staind quit whining about how his dad didn't love him deep enough.

Posted by Dr Enema:
Why should any of them retire? I'm sure they rake in far more dosh than any of us (except me of course) for sitting on their ar5es in the lap of luxury. Nice work if you can get it!

Posted by Blaine:
1.Metallica 2.Aerosmith 3.Ted Nugent 4.Jimmy Buffet 5.Ozzy Each of these artists have turned into nothing more than a mediocre joke.

Posted by LadyMuck:
Dreamy, was that you who mentioned Godsmack? They are so f*cking cool, I don't care what anyone says. I think Moon Baby is one of the hardest-hitting rock songs to come out in the past few years. Bands that should retire? Hmmm, I still don't agree with ANYONE who says Metallica, Aerosmith, the Stones, Ozzy, U2 should retire. Bullsh*t. But the likes of Madonna, Celine, Cher, Michael...well, it wouldn't sadden me one bit to see THEM go! Bottom line is this, all of these artists have fans, or they would not still be around.

Posted by metalseed:
what's wrong with you people?! Metallica is one of the BEST bands out there!! You all should open your eyes and listnen to metallica and the immense talent and they have to offer! Metallica has incredible musical talent! They have been around a long time and will be around much longer! Heavy metal is the greatest music out there! And KISS! to you people saying they should retire: they are the ones that really started rock 'n roll...AND STILL put out good music. you all should appreciate them for them being around and continually being sucessfull in releasing their music! they have a unique style. Now bands such as BSB, NSYNC, Britney spears, sugar ray,Dr.Dre, Eminem and whatever hell else rap out there (rap is nothing but stupid chanting and mumble about their hoes, and money which is god awful and horrible sounding!) should retire! they are just a waste of public time and money! -METALLICA, TOOL, IRON MAIDEN, ICED EARTH, PINK FLOYD, , LED ZEPPLIN, DEF LEPPARD, OZZY, NIN, JIMMY HENDRIX, GREATFUL DEAD,MARILYN MANSON S&M, A PERFECT CIRCLE ALL RULE! End of story! :)

Rolling Stones Foreigner - saw them 4 years ago - just embarrassing Mr. Parrothead himeself - Jimmy Buffet - enough!!! Aerosmith - leave while they are still on top

Posted by reznok635:
1) Metalica - I agree that they've given metal music a bad name. 2) Aerosmith) They suck, they always did suck. But they sounded better in the 70s and 80s compared to today) 3) Celine Dion - Somebody introduce a bat to this annoying bitch's face! 4) Micheal Jackson - I used to love his music until I was 13. He made a big mistake, coming back with those same overused dance moves. 5) Kiss - Nuff said.

Posted by VampireRyan:
How could I forget that old ass Kylie Minogue? She needs to call it quits before people wash her off like the spice bitches. I thought the beegees were retired. I have to agree that dre should retire, but not his pupils (as i call them). That new Eminem song is sweet.

Posted by Mushroomclownanema:
1 Beegees 2 Dr Dre 3 Kylie minogue 4 Robbie Williams 5 Santana 6 Charlotte Church "She is beautiful too young for the pill" 7 Record producers who make boy bands and girl bands and diva trolls. 8 Britney Spears becasue her image has turned into slut from beautiful teenage girl.

Posted by aG:
I saw AC/DC on their last tour and they still rocked as hard as ever, age hasn't slowed them down a bit. KISS on the otherhand you can see that it has taken it's toll on Paul he is nowhere nears as active on stage as he used to be.

Posted by VampireRyan:
Hey I don't wish death on anyone. I'm just annoyed, that's all. Celine and Cher have made good songs when they were released, but they now are annoying (if I hear my heart will go on again, I'm gonna go nuts). Also, 1 question Carolina Girl: why? Why do KISS and AC/DC still play? THEY ARE TOO OLD!!!! SOMEONE BACK ME UP HERE!!

Posted by Popeoldham:
First off, Metallica still have the flair that they always did, people just cannot accept tthat their musical style has changed to try and allow a bit more breathing space...imagine if you HAD to write the same sort of music for 20 years...you would go bloody insane. Give them a brake and see what their next album has to offer. My List of retirements goes like this: 5. 2-Pac: 'But he is Dead' you all scream...then why is he still releasing music???? 4. P-Diddy: What the hell is with the name...IDEOT! 3. Kiss: The time of Glam rock is over, and its time that they accepted it. 2.Hear'say: Well...it speaks for itself. 1. S Club Junoirs: They may be new in England...but their time is already over...GIVE IT UP BEFORE MY EARS BLEED!

...if this list is simply about artists past their prime and still living off of their past glories, I have to agree with the majority the the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and KISS should just stay home, but why hasn't anyone mentioned Rush? maybe someone has already, but I'm not going to read the entire list of posts here...Rush had several good songs, but as far as quality product, they haven't produced any since "Moving Pictures" in 1981...as for my fifth choice, I'd have to say Van Halen...no matter how good a guitar player Eddie is, he hasn't done anything different since "5150", and that album was only good because of the new tricks he pulled off; nevermind Sammy Hagar singing ballads (the beginning of the end was "Dreams" and "Love Walks In", both from 5150)...for me to be blown away by Eddie Van Halen today would be to see him join the Dave and Sammy tour as their guitar player for both of their sets each night...

well i think its time for the new guns n roses to call it a day, and axl has to make up wit slash duff, izzy and steve if they came back together, the whole music world would go crazy, they arent to old either they can do it but, its all on axl's shoulders

I just saw an interview with the two chicks from " Heart ". Jesus! God! The one with the black hair is like 700 lbs. Her neck looks like a package of hotdogs! WTF? It looks like someone took the ugly stick to the blonde too. Instead of " Heroin Chic ", it looks like she's trying for the " Pabst Chic " look.

5. KISS- isn't it disgusting how they are so wrinkled that the makeup doesn't even make a difference? 4. U2- boring 3. Aerosmith- even more boring 2. Fred Durst 1. Creed- the worst cover band ever.

VampireRyan...Dude, why do you even care about these older chics still making music? I'm sure you have something better for your ears to listen to, but please....to say that they should die in a car crash. What the hell kind of person are you? Everyone does something in life that other people don't like. Does that mean they should all die in a car crash? I think that is a terrible thing to say and especially right after Left Eye Lisa Lopez just died in a car crash! Shame on you!! Do you have a heart?? I'm not trying to down you dude, but think about it!! I'm sure others on here know what I'm saying. If you really feel that way , then you need to go suck some blood and Peace out!! Peace to you and ALL the FREAKS!!

Motley Crue should call it a day, especially if they never get Tommy Lee back.

Posted by VampireRyan:
How can you say anything postive about Cher and Celine Dion Carolina Girl?! They both suck, never had ANY good songs, and don't know the meaning of the word retire. And Madonna needs to give it up. She's in her 40s and is still singing about how she was "touched for the very first time." She and Britney Spears should both die in a car crash.

Posted by Carolina Girl:
K Peeps....I have to say who freakin cares who is still rockin!! I feel if these older bands or people still want to sing, rock, rap or whatever they want to do, why not? You have to remember the older peeps on here grew up with alot of these bands and people that you are knocking. So what if Cher has had plastic surgery, or if you think she sucks , someone digs her. Cline Dion is a very talented singer and a beautiful person, but I don't buy her music or Chers, but I think Cher is the bomb as a person, not a singer, but if it makes her happy go for it!! Madonna was the bomb when she first came out and got a bit carried away but came back down to earth and looks damn good for a 40 something year old chic. I admire these older folks that keep on rockin because it is their life and maybe keeps them young at heart and maybe they think that if they stop that it will be all over for them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I just think people shouldn't be so harsh.I personally think Kid Rock is THE BOMB!! But I don't see why someone would want to sing about F***ING a wound, is that great talent? But like I said before different strokes for different folks and I think everyone knows this one, OPINIONS are like A$$HOLES, everyone has one!! Peace To All The Freaks!!

Godsmack is great. Put simply: they are one of my favorite bands and they put one hell of a show every time they play.

Posted by Dreamy Rover:
I think the entire Hip Hop genre should retire, as well as R&B. And Nu-metal too. Though Godsmack's track on THE SCORPION KING soundtrack does pack some punch.

Posted by Trendkill138:
From what I hear, The Boss does put on one hell of a show.

Posted by zee:
The Boss? He11 no he hasn't retired! actually I saw him the last time he was on tour, it was a couple years ago, but I gotta say anyone who can still rock like that at 50 doesn't need to retire any time soon.

Posted by Justanothervictim:
We know Tomobedlam. We know. Seriously though, KISS needs to retire NOW, for good. They need another comeback special like the kid from Billy Elliot needs another call from Michael Jackson.

Posted by Tomobedlam:
Andrew Wk Didn't Spinal Tap already happen? This retard is beyond not funny.

Posted by PoST SiNNeR:
Look bands like metallica, aerosmith, kiss, acdc will always have sell out concerts. well until they end up like rolling stones. but anyway bands who only at their very peak could fill venues and forever since then only maintain a average venue attendence should give it up when they get all old. like pearl jam and green day. but i sick of saying that entertainers like michael jackson, celine dion, madonna should give it up. they are not musicians. therefore i dont care. a musician writes their own music. a musician will get to however high position in the industry and will respect everything as they earned it. real musicians did the hard work, made their own image, write thier own songs, name their own bands and decide on most things that can be decided by themselves. The S1ut kylie minogue, the biitch said earlier this year that she wrote her first song. "cant get you out of my head". then i found out something. she was refering to the lyrics only. all this time she has been singing, dancing, wearing other peoples work and ideas. all entertainers (not musicians) should die. most of us hate limp bizkit and such but at least they earned to be called a musician.. even the cheesy punkers deserve some respect!

Posted by aG:
Watching KISS on the Dick Clark special the other night and it was really sad, yes Gene and Paul still can rock with best of them, Eric Singer has always been a world class drummer but what is upsetting is that it's really back to being Gene and Paul and if they are gonna carry on they should take the makeup off again. That sure wasn't Ace playing the other night and it's a bit of a ripoff for them to go on stage with other people wearing Peter and Ace's makeup. Just thought I'd throw that into the mix. These guys need to stop already. They are flushing their legacy down the toilet with every bogus appearance.

Bruce and Max are playing a series of lounge shows for Ramada Inn.

Posted by madhatter:
5)Cher-she wasn't good to begin with 4)Metallica-they used to be good, not no more 3)KISS-how many times do they need to say good-bye 2)Michael Jackson-he went out with break dancing 1)Rolling Stones-they should just stop before they need walkers and wheelchairs.(or are they already at that point?)

Posted by miss E:
the rolling stones shoulda stopped long before their last time around... many fossils out there.

Posted by LithiumBliss:
I think Bruce already has retired.

Posted by zee:
Everyone needs to lay off Aerosmith. Same goes for the Stones. They rock, and will continue to rock. As for Celine and Cher, can we just please shoot them and put them out of their misery?????? By the way, I really expected to read at least a few people trashing the E Street Band on here, and am pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. Rock on!

Why can't we all just get along? What I'm really sick of is the way people look down on other people who listen to less favourable music. God Dammit! everyone gets something different out of the music we listen to.

5-1, As will pearl jam but I think the point you tried to make about the young kids pertains more to pj. I have been to many aero and met shows and there is often a mixed crowd agewise. My experience with pj (# Shows) is that they have a very young crowd.

Posted by 5 Against One:
Aerosmith and Metallica will always sell cd's and fill arenas, because there will always be a 13 -18 year old demographic group to funnel in the cash.

Posted by djinalbany:
5against1, Aerosmith is the greatest rock band in american history. 30 years all original members, they are all in their 50's and they tour twice as much as pj. Aero or metallica will make pj look silly on stage. I like pj but you have no room to diss these 2 great bands. Pj themselves have stated that they love aero in rolling stone acouple of years ago.as for metallica"going corporate"they were already one of the biggest bands in the world when load came out in 95.and by the way just push play or re-load are tons better then the lame binaurel.

Posted by 5 Against One:
Aerosmith is so over that it makes me shake, it's really sad. Metallica decided to go corporate and grab the payday, now they suck ass like most corporate bands. Pearl Jam does what they want, when they want to, a lot of groups would kill to have what PJ has! Put your tired ass Aerosmith discs away and get with the program dude!

Posted by djinalbany:
Did anybody catch the aerosmith icons show? That band remains the best live show in rock. Pearl Jam, nirvana, and Sevendust fans talkin sh#t about aerosmith and metallica? you gotta be kidding me.

Posted by IWorshipSevendust:
I agree with Bitchfuker! All those morons, plus Cher and and most rap-metal bands! they need to get a real singer and move the hell on, or go the way of disco!

Posted by bitchfuker:
Screw Metallica and screw Aerosmith and screw The Stones and Celine Dion needs a kick in da clam, oh, and Kiss needs to stop advertising f***ing sodas and call it a day.

I admire Bob Dylan, but what more can he possibly have to write about?

Posted by Trendkill138:
Celine Dion and Cher: as Butch would say, "BARF SPIT PUKE."

Posted by BK:
Post_Sinner,you said no one likes Green Day anymore. Well, they're still my favorite band and I know several people who like them so therefore your statement is untrue. Not everyone likes them and that's fine. Just don't assume no one likes them.

Posted by Dreamy Rover:
I hate CELINE DION very much... and CHER is unspeakably horrible. And if someone is gonna back 'em up, I'm just gonna excuse him/her for being mentally retarded. One more thing: BOB DYLAN rocks! I don't listen to his music everyday...but yes, his poetry is magical & so is his guitar playing. Boy, it just brings a smile to your face. Yeah his SINGING was out of form at the GRAMMY ceremony..but his guitar sounded as beautiful as always... now he's one man who's got nothing to share with Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger. Except maybe the numbers of their ages.

Posted by Justanothervictim:
Don't hate the playa, hate the game. Thanks Booker T. Whoever says Green Day and PJ should retire must be smoking crack. They are two very influencial bands and have spawned many imitators, but none have come close to them at what they do. And my question is, does anyone else besides me hate Celine Dion and CHer?! Come on people!!

Posted by 5 Againt One:
Blasphemy! PJ Rocks!!!

Posted by Rocky Racoon!:
From what ive read i still have my doubts as to whether people have actually heard the latest releases or seen the latest concerts from the bands that they are suggesting should retire. Do yourself a favour go out and buy the Stones latest album BtoB, see the Who or Dylan in concert, buy Mccartneys Flamming Pie. Chances are youll change your view or at least be entitled to judge them on the music rather then on there age and there looks, something that makes the teen pop acts so popular.

Posted by Kizzymarie:
Aerosmith??? I think with all of the junk music that is being made by the rock and roll wannabe bands today we should feel blessed to still have a band that is will to break new ground with their music. and as for them hooking up with pop groups...people said the same thing when they hooked up with Run DMC and look how that ended up. You are way off on this one sorry.

Posted by PoST_SiNNeR:
5. pearl jam - man eddie vedder and the boys have totally screwed the bands reputation from the long break they had back a few years ago.. there music is so boring now.. 4.Bon Jovi - Look hair metal died with GNR. 3. Green Day - God damn when your band goes from good punk to poppy rock crap you know it's time to call it a day.. no one likes you no more. 2. michael jackson - when punk bands can cover your songs better then you can play them then you know it's time to take your millions of dollars and go piss off. and finally my number one band to take a hike and retire... 1. limp bizkit - wes borland wrote all the music for limp bizkit he went last year and they havent found a replacement since.. no one likes fred... go have some hotdog flavored water ya nine inch nails disser!!!

Posted by LithiumBliss:
I believe Dylan is exempt from the "geezers retire now" rule. Bob never really rocked all that hard, but his lyrics are magic. As long as he can strum a guitar and come up with the words he does, he can tour whenever he wants. If he gets Reagan Disease though, it's time to quit.

Posted by Trendkill138:
Damn it, I hate the game. Why'd they come up with it in the first place?

Posted by 5 Against One:
Don't hate the playa, hate the game yo.

Posted by pick:
There's that "hater" word again. For Heaven's sake, please stop using the word hater!

Posted by BK:
I would like to go ahead and apologize to any Mick Jagger fans I may have offended. If you like the Stones, that's cool. I personally just don't think he has much left in him.

Posted by BK:
Carolina Girl, like I said,I like Dylan. I was supposed to go see him in concert about a month and a half ago,but plans changed at the last minute. It really upset me. I just don't want to see Bob become one of those people like Mick Jagger who just doesn't have it anymore. Who knows? Dylan may never become that way. For his sake,I hope not. Like I said,if he keeps making records I will continue to buy them as long as they're good stuff.

Posted by Carolina Girl:
BK??? What are you talking about, Bob Dylan should retire???? Have you seen him in concert lately?? He is the BOMB!! I have seen him like 15 times over the years and excuse me, but Bob like wine only gets better with age. Love and Theft is one of his best released. His shows rock and he seems to be enjoying his self rocking out with the fans. Let the man rock until he is ready to quit!! Bob is a smart man, I am sure he will know when it is time to quit. Don't go by what you saw on the Grammy's, go see one of his shows and I think you will think differently!! Also, it's called different strokes for different folks...Let them all rock on and if you don't like them ,then don't listen to them!!but, PLEASE don't knock them, they had to be good enough at one time or they would have never made it in the first place!!Peace to all you FREAKS that are HATERS!!

Posted by SevendustfanJustanothervictim:
5a1 you speak the truth dang it. I must say though, Celine and Cher should just STOP NOW. Their music doesn't fit in with the generation we are now. People listen to rock, pop, and rap. Celine was a great artist the time Titantic came around because we needed a soothing voice to make us feel like "wow, she can sing." Now though, she is bashed by critics and has gone done as one of SNL's best character imitations. Cher just hasn't been the same since sonny skied and hit some trees. Her career is more dead than original face. I must also say that STP still rule and that if there was nuclear war/meltdown, three people would survive: Michael "Molester" Jackson, Cher, and WWF's Chyna.

Haha even lars calls Bono pretentious!

Posted by LithiumBliss:
Time for some snide remarks from old Uncle Bliss. Although Jacko the Wacko was never my cup of tea, I can appreciate that he was a MONSTER in the world of R&B. But he is a child molester. If someone accused me of fooling with children, damn straight I would want my day in court! MJ said "here's 20 (hee-hee-hee) million (uh-ah-ah) dollars to hush hush (mama say mama sah ma makusa) up, OK." As far as Ozzy, NO ONE can dispute the mightyness of the mighty Sabbath, or the fine pair of albums he recorded with the GREAT Randy Rhoads, but that dude is definitely fried. Fried like pork roll and sausages. His voice is the most heavily produced on record. It wouldn't surprise me if he lip sings live now. And the Stones? Their next CD is called "The Stench Of Ben Gay" (props to 5 Against One for the title). And Aerosh*te? I don't possess the language skills needed to describe how bad they SUCK. G'night now, kiddies.
