Ronson (musicraters): On his best days, Axl has charisma, a
great stage presence, and excellent vocals. Unfortunately, every day is
not his best day. Axl has a history of whiny-glamboy-isms, just like my
mentors Ian Hunter and David Bowie. When all is said and done, they dont
measure up to the great bands of our generation who still play a good show
on their bad day (I'm talking about Queen, the Cult, Anthrax) and not Axl
/ GNR / Democracy. They were immensly gifted musicians , but attitudes
and egos eroded the band's best moments. His efforts with the Chinese Democracy
are only hopeful optimism. there seems to be a lot of talent pasted together,
but there is no underlying musical or philosophical direction to guide
this newest motley crue of talent (artists like Velvet Underground REM
and Radiohead have the direction that the Democracy lacks). I hope they
can prove me wrong and create some inspired music.

on the bill.....I've seen them live twice. This was before the rest of
the band left, etc... And the 2 they did manage to show/play, they took
the stage late. In one case 2 hours late. Why is anyone suprised by Axl's

For those people who want to hate him because of his sometimes bad behavior
they don't understand that a lot of the very talented people out there
are moody and unpredictable. To name just a few Elton John, Michael Jackson
and a lot of others. The world runs on their time....not ours. I saw GNR
at Columbus Ohio. The show was unbelievalbe! Yes only 2 origianl members
were there but the new guys ROCKED! I went not knowing what to expect.
I am a long time fan since 87 I loved the old band. Was crushed when they
went there seperate ways. I was not accepting this band with open arms
just because Axl picked them. I wanted to hear it for myself & draw
my own opinion. As far as I am concerned they were as good if not better
than the old band. Now I do have to say the opeining band CKY SUCKED! I
don't know what possessed Axl to book them. Mix Master was ok but I am
not into his music. He was at least beter than CKY. So I will close saying
AXL ROCKS....It is just a shame that shows are cancelled & more people

some beer, but they stopped serving. So i asked the bartender what was
up, and he told me that his boss told that axl wa still in NYC and they
are gonna stop selling alcohol before any problems start..and wouldnt you
know, at about 11pm, you see the first chair flying into the stage followed
by many others. and as i was leaving the fans started to attack the sound
board, by throwing chairs and stopping on it..i guess thats one of the
reasons they might be cancelling the rest of the tour..oh yeah, i also
had tickets for the MCI center show december 8th, and guess what, GNR Cancelled
it, so to break the bad news to everybody going to that show..

Gip: I saw Axl and co at the Leeds festival
in England this year and they were the best GnR covers band I ever saw,
but that's all they were. (and Buckethead's guitar solo consisted of him
body popping and playing the Star Wars theme badly!)

with Ja Rule is just one more example of failed experimentation. They´re
in way over their heads. They can't combine the fury of the first releases
with their tendency to experiment with bluesrock. Their music was best
