antiGUY gives his top 5 list of music stuff. Could be songs, people, a stupid trend... nothing is sacred to antiGUY

Disclaimer for the dense (a.k.a. those who don’t know the difference between the words accept and except or mass and vast), these lists are meant to be stupid!  If you don’t get the humor (or lack thereof), that’s fine but bitching about it isn’t gonna change things or make these lists out to be something they aren’t (profound, meaningful etc). These are simply silly distractions.  Have a nice day =)  aG

Top 5 Things To Be Thankful For.

You may have noticed the Top 5 list was turned over to a guest the last time around (Mr. Rob Zombie). Good news for those who do not appreciate my sense of humor or the fact that “my” lists are supposed to be lame; more “guest” Top 5’s are being lined up! If they pan out, some really cool stars are gonna ply you with their wit. But I was reflecting this morning about the things I am grateful for; this being Thanksgiving in the U.S.  So I figured why not post a Top 5 things I am thankful for this holiday season. This should hold us over until we get the next guest Top 5 in.

Top 5 Things To Be Thankful For.

5) Tie - The death of the mallcore trend. (see Korn and Limp Bizkit new CD sales) / Lars showing us other uses for Pots and Pans.

4) Being able to see all of the Paris Hilton without having to travel to France. (plus spammers have something new to fill my inbox up with besides "Generic Viagra" and "Enlarge your Penis" ads)

3) The farther her CD sales drop, the more we get to see of Britney. At this rate we should have a special edition of Hustler by next year.

2) Michael Jackson – I'm just glad we will be getting 24/7 media coverage on something besides the Lacy Peterson case.

1) Sharp objects in the audience at Limp Bizkit concerts.

Now you see why we are turning these lists over to “guests”.  Happy Holidays to everyone and please share what you are grateful for in the Fan Speak below (besides being grateful for me turning over these lists!) - aG

Your turn, what do you think?

I am thankful for hippie parents that exposed me to incredible rock n roll at a young age and now enables me to truly enjoy good music when it comes around. (Radiohead, Tom Petty, Phish, Jack Johnson, Grateful Dead, Ben Harper, the list goes on...)

In response to Another Random Reader's post...Alice in Chains rock, you suck.

Posted by paperweight:
no comments yet i wat to talk to metal fans. um why is that guy down there on a real metal page difending limp discket?

Posted by Another Random Reader:
The biggest thing I'm thankful for is the breakup of Alice in Chains. Their music is really terrible. That sludgly, angst-ridden cacaphony is anything but music. Definately a band I don't miss a bit!

Posted by Wes Rains:
I love the last one

Posted by Kizzymarie:
I'm thankful that i'm old enough to know the difference between the latest trend and really good music. Which I'm not scared to admit only came with age.

I happy we can always count on having a new Clay Aiken every year!

Posted by randie:
all the pussy (boy) bands that think they are pop/punk/heavey metal rockers yet they can't get over how they were treated growing up. thus the reason my local radio is plagued with the notes of how they got beat up in high school and how good charlottes father left. when i turn on the radio i dont want to hear about how some sell out musician had it rough growing up. hint: shut the hell up and play some godamn music. stop your mama's boy whinning!

I find it funny that he thinks it would be ok to do that to osama bin laden.....Don't you guys get it yet why they haven't found him....George W's faily and the bin laden family are best frtiends....look at history they have a close past and often they families would visit each other. So I think George W and bin laden decided to use each other to get what they want. George W needed an enemy to blame it on, so his good friend osama stepped up, of course george w had to promise that they actually weren't after him anyways and would never find him.

DeadSun? Obnoxious? How could that possibly be?

Posted by DeadSun:
Well, one of my cousins, four of my uncles, and myself all shared roughly a gallon of homemade Sicilian wine--- generously donated by my uncle Mike's family. We're talking "high test" wine. This isn't like the libation you pick up at a retail outlet. After several glasses, Thanksgiving began to shimmer indeed. I was obnoxious--- which I'M SURE comes as a great surprise to the lot of you.

Posted by zee:
A shimmering thanksgiving, DS? What sort of substances do you ingest to make thanksgiving shimmer?

Posted by GREENMUSE:
i only got 25 mails about paris's antics

Fred Durst getting cut open is NOT funny, aG. Shame on you. Think of all those poor staff members who were charged with the task of cleaning up all that sausage gravy that leaked out of his chin. They may never be able to eat steak-fries again. Now; things I AM thankful for : 1.) Democrat wit. Cigarette smoker's should be taxed to death--- yet junkies deserve free needles. Wow. 2.) 375-pounders who ride mopeds. Very few moments in life are as existential as catching a glimpse of somebody who is trying to pick their transportation out of the crack of their ass. Trust me. 3.) Roseanne Barr's gynecologist. aG, this is one tough son of a bitch I wouldn't want to get into a street-brawl with. I heard he lost two fingers in the middle of giving Roseanne a routine Pap smear, and still kept going. 4.) Gangsta (c)Rap : aG, if you thought that the standard IQ test was an effective way to guage idiocy--- then do this for me. The next time you're shopping at a music retailer, glance occasionally over to the area where the Gansta (c)Rap cds are on display, and the various humanoids who are to be found there. It's like receiving a free instructional course in basic anthropology, only twice as entertaining. Hope everybody had a shimmering Thanksgiving.

Remember, aG, it's always a paradox with people. I, for instance, am offended by people openly stating things about homosexuality, perverseness and the lack of respect for the Lord. Yet those are society's big issues. It is perfectly fine for some people to say anything they want and not fine for others to do the same. Yet as much as it bothers me, I can live with it. Nothing has ever enraged me in such a way that I become violent or feel the need to protest. As a productive member of society and someone who prides himself on keeping my head high, I find it much better to keep my comments to myself. Some may think it's silly, but that practice has kept me out of trouble.

ok ok..i get the point..i am born out of wedlock so my name does carry the meaning implied..heheh....and that picture was pretty funny..but let the teflon jokes die already...yo...hehe

Posted by Max:
Thanks Mr Huh! That is so freaken funny. I'm still laughting over it.

Posted by Mr. huh? saying, "My Generation Sucks!":
Hey Max. The picture that I'm referring to can be found at the bottom of the Day in Rock column from Nov. 12, 2003. Just this past month. I promise it's hysterical.

As someone born without a father I find use of the term bastard in very poor taste. It is highly offensive. And how do you equate Fred Durst getting a little jab on the chin with someone being jumped? Mountain vs. molehill. I'm sure if he was seriously hurt people wouldn't be making jokes but it wasn't serious and it's rather funny. So take a chill pill. The Orwell thing was right on the money, that's all political correctness is people trying to implement a form of thought control. That comment about Blazing Sattles is spot on. If that came out now there would be boycotts and protest when Brooks makes fun of everyone. People need to lighten the f*** up. Also I read on this very page from the author that these list are supposed to be stupid. Why are people bitching? They are what they are made out to be. I think it's funny, lame, but funny and there is a lot of truth in that number 2 but we're gonna get burnt out on that real soon when they go way overboard on reporting the Jackson thing and not really come up with anything new, just the same old thing over and over again. I'm not familier with this pots and pans thing, I can guess it has something to do with the drums St. Anger, where can I find this picture Mr. Huh was talking about. Finally, saw the Paris Hilton video, major hype. I don't think she's that hot and her personality makes her downright ugly.

Posted by BassBastard hates MTV and U People:
But wait..im offended at the comformist jab.......Getting stabbed isnt funny...i catch the irony..but it sounds kind of sh!tty when you find yourself grinning at someone getting stabbed or sliced or whatever...Osama Bin Laden...I can understand...but some sh$tty rapper for Nu Metal Garbage..his music sucks..that makes it funny? i got jumped and no one could recognize my face that first two weeks...Im not asking for sympathy..nor mock sympathy for the idiot who will no doubt do so...my point is SOMETIMES It isnt funny being in that place...so f*ck you aG..referencing me with Orwell? How mighty of you...I used LOW BROW erroneously..stupid and lame is what i meant..i was expecting something FUNNY or Intelligent....hey..missy elliot says YO lots...lets comment on that...8 TIMES! that was a good top five(sarcasm).....sh!t i disagree and use one wrong word..then the Hipster "im underground and edgy" bastards call me MTV kiss ass....i get it too often...maybe i do love MTV even tho ive watched 2 hours of it in my entire life....?

Posted by Basbastard:
I didnt like the list...why am i PC?..it wasnt funny..and i wasnt offended by it..i just thought it was kind of retarded..so yet again you assh#les decided to polarize and tell some one go to MTV...and MTV offends me more than this stupid site...the usual bullsh!t...it nots funny to me...im "mallcore" or something...this place is getting lame

Posted by Mr. huh? saying, "My Generation Sucks!":
The BEST pots and pans reference is still that picture that was sent to antiMUSIC and I have yet to see the Paris Hilton video, damn it!

Posted by aG:
"tasteless… pretty low brow" SUCCESS!! You know what offends me? The fact that we live in such a thin-skinned time where Mel Brooks would never be able to make a movie like "Blazing Saddles" in this day and age. I find that kind of conformist attitude far more offensive then an off-color joke. (of course Blazing Saddles is one long off color joke). George Orwell was a genius and a prophet.

Posted by Al Gore:
Yeah Anti-guy let's have a high brow Top 5 list next time. It may negate the whole meaning behind a Top 5 list but at least you won't hurt anyones feelings or make them suffer moral outrage. Shame on you!

Posted by Drumbastard:
Love number one. Bass go to mtv.com if you want politically correct crap. I find the PC whining by you and a few others here annoying.

Posted by Bassbastard:
..and I find the Pots and pans jokes just as annoying as the Taco Bell dog at this point....]

Posted by Bassbastard:
I find a few of those kind of tasteless...and the pots and pans thing is getting annoying...of course the usual answer is who cares who we offend but nonethe less...its pretty low brow
