Motorplant - Modern Rock
Motorplant
is no stranger to praise. They have accomplished a feat that very few independent
bands fail at - cracking mainstream radio. With one listen to their sophomore
CD release, "Inside the Walnut", it is easily apparent why so many have
sung the praises of this band. You may have already heard Motorplant's
music and just don't know it. They have had music featured on MTV's road
rules and ESPN's X-games. Music fans in their home territory of New Hampshire
have heard them on college and mainstream radio stations, often topping
the local charts with their modern rock and pop songs. 254 college radio
stations across the U.S. added tracks from Inside the Walnut to their play
list. Not to mention, the notice they have received in the press. There
are just too many articles about these guys to count. Most significant,
Inside the Walnut landed Jam Magazines #1 local album of the year in 1998.

Band.
Steve
Blanchard, Eric Eaves, Andy Hanscom and Kevin Trybulski are the players
that make up the modern rock juggernaut that is Motorplant.
Motorplant
reside in Sunapee, New Hampshire, located in the state's Upper Valley Region,
also the home of Dartmouth College. This group of 20-somethings have been
playing together since the early 90's, released two full length albums
and a couple of EP's. They've toured with national acts like Fastball and
captured a large local following. In 1999 they headed west to play an Industry
showcase at L.A.s most popular proving ground for up and coming artist,
"the Gig" on Melrose. With several of the industries heavy weights
in attendance it's only a mater of time before MotorPlant star rises to
National recognition. You can't keep a band this cool secret for long.

What
can you say, it's a showcase of Modern Rock classics. Motorplant masterful
blends pop, classic rock with punk and hard rock overtones to create a
18 track album as good as anything you'll find at the top of Bill Board
Magazine's Modern Rock Charts. The disc opens with "waterlogged" which
sets the tone for the rest of the album, with strong guitars and rhythm
section, the vocals takes charge and grabs the listeners attention. The
remaining 17 tracks are just a listenable, with lyrical topics ranging
from bad relationships, to the environment. This is not an album you can
easily get bored with. With that said, follow the link at the bottom of
this feature and head on over to the band's web site and download a couple
of MP3's and discover Motorplant for yourself.
