Back to What the Hell? Crazy Town Part I

Posted by SpookyApparition:
LOL, listening to Slayer or Morbid Angel means you're stuck in the 80s? That's hilarious, considering the majority of Morbid Angel records have been released in the 90s..in about, just about ALL of them. As for Slayer, even in the 80s, with poor production qualities, they still manage to sound heavier, and more intense than any of the bands on this site. And yeah, please stop calling EVERYTHING metal. Cheers to the people who recognize the talent of Black Label Society though. One of the only good Ozzfest bands.....

Posted bySubXavier:
*still wondering who the hell ever said that Radiohead was metal...*

Posted byRobert:
After you sell more then 5 cd's you are no longer a real metal band.

Posted byDimebag:
Um these guys suck. It's nice to know Pantera and Ozzy is mallcore.

Posted byRR:
Looks like someone named omni is stuck in the 80's. This site bashed limp bizkit more than any other I've seen. Mallcore that's rich. Go back to your stupid little metal-rules site you little fag!

Posted byOmni:
Well the rap community considers wannabe white surburbans to be "wack" and the REAL metal community sees the entire site of anti music as a joke. Mallcore bastards that call anything and everything metal. Thats all i know. Dont even dare mention real metal bands (morbid Angel, Slayer etc.) with your disease (limp bizkit, staind, radiohead or whaever)

Posted byScorn:
HUGE DICK if they find losers with big dicks!

Posted byJesus:
Crazy Town sucks. A bunch of white guys trying to act black, so all their white suburban audiance can think they are "hardcore'. Losers. Give me real metal bands ala : Nile, Nevermore, opeth, In Flames, Kataklysm, Sentenced, etc. CRAZY TOWN SUCKS HUGE DICK

Posted byScorn:
Give me some metal and not this crap! It's a trend and music companies are pumping out bands that are gonna make money. This band is like Britney and those boy bands. They are employees to the company; it's not for the love of music but for money! Give me some good Metal anyday! Hail: Blind Guardian, In Flames, Julie Laughs Nomore, Fatal Influence, The Crown, etc...

i dont think that Eminem is a legitimate musician, i think he is a fag, but many ppl think that "o gawd, he is so cool!" so why dont ppl complain and laugh when he features Dido on his cd? and mooooch, what music do U like? u r prolly a teeny-bopper at heart...locking yourself in a sound-proof room for your daily 5 hours of Boy-band-bubble-pop

Posted byGina:
I totally disagree with you. Next time you should do your home work. Crazy Town have been out for a while, in fact, their CD was released in 1999 so they are not "NEW". As for the ganag banger comment, I don't see them as gang bangers & Shifty (the lead singer) Is like that in real life. He's had his share of problems with the law & was in fact on LA's most wanted. He has since straightened out & is doing what he love to do which is music. ~A crazy town friend & fan Gina.

Posted bymooooch:
I have no taste in music please excuse me I think Crazy Town and Eminen are legitimate musicians. So I will go back and put my head up my ass now.

Posted byAnti-Town:
Sorry fanz but after watching them on MTV Europe Select trying to defend themselves from limpz Wes Borlands ratty comments (go Wes!). I laughed non stop for an hour after that, they were just hoping and praying no one would bring that up and they did, ha ha! So go MTV too!

Posted bymoooooooch:
if u dont like it, dont listen to it...so simple... instead of wasting your precious time on b!tching about this band that u dont like....no body cares really...wake up...smell the sh!t....i agree w/ whoever sed that Brothers Keepers is good....Letzte Warnung...Adriano

Posted bymoooooooch:
they may not be a rap-rock band....but that doesnt mean that they arnt good...and so what if they bought dido? Eminem featured her on his cd, and everyone thinks that he is "cool" enough for them...i think it is a good thing how people listen to more types of music than one.that a crime? mister antiMUSIC "music w/ attitude" or whatever...if u dont like it....keep it too yourself....nobody cares if u like or dislike crazytown....besides...have u listened to their album? their WHOLE album...huh? do u actually know what their other songs sound like?

Posted byTomas:
Apart from snagging success through the use of someone elses sample to power 'butterfly', I read an interview with the lead singer in Rolling Stone. Talk about a looooser All he could do was brag about how he can get away with being a brat cos he's rich now and how proud he was of all the drugs he's taken and trouble he 'used' to cause. That's the impression I got. And a complete poser.

Posted byTonix:
I do wanna say that not all the songs by Crazy Town sound like "Butterfly" but I'm not gonna say that Crazy Town is actually a rock band, because that would make me a complete moron. I saw them live at a Q101 radio show which had a lot of acts from Ozzfest, and Crazy Town were headlining the second stage w/ acts like Run-DMC, Monster Magnet, and Cold. I don't know about Run-DMC, but those other bands were definitely more legit than they are. Their set was really sloppy and overall sucked. Their big "prop" of the set was drinking a 40 while crowd surfing. I don't think they deserve to be on Ozzfest, let alone considered as "rock".

Posted byrocky racoon:
Im not a huge fan of crazy town but i hate the idea of people booing an act for no other reason other then they dont like there music. It wasnt there fault that they got put on the main stage ahead of your favourite band. There just up there trying there best and trying to earn a living.

Posted bybeaubi:
Just one thing... I don't even call that commercial sh*t music. Everyone wants to say that we are haters and that we are jealous because we don't like Crazy Town and they have money and we don't... think about it jack a*s... then why is it we like so many other bands that actually sound good. And about Ozzfest (the greatest rock show on earth) everyone around me booed their as*es till the end of their sorry performance. How do you like that? How did they score that? You people don't know what music is. Get real... PLEASE!

Posted byNo1:
did u notice that in Butterfly that the guy star tatoos fly away

Posted byRocky Racoon:
I could be wrong but i always get the idea that a comment like "I love music not just making money!" comes from people that arnt good enough to make money. Not always but its usually that way

Posted byme:
Damn right I'm jealous I wish I could make all that money with no talent and stand around acting like an idiot on stage. Damn I actually have to play an instrument and try and get a record deal the old fashioned way, it would be easy to sell out and cash in but you know I can't do it because unlike these posers I love music not just making money!

Posted bySubXavier:
To K-9 and all the other people that say that we're "just jealous"... why the hell should we care?!?

Posted bychris:
actually they're alittle higher up on the legit scale than you think. epic is on the list of musicians that went to taft high school, along with ice cube, everlast, divine styler and danny boy o'connor. of course danny beat the life out of epic one day. heheh

Posted byRocky Racoon:
I still reckon thell make more money this way so it was a good decision

Posted byK-9:
I Think your wrong cause it seems you didn`t do your homework!!! Goddamn if you look around that song was for a ex that the guy had so she would put up....so lay off cause all of yor are pissed cause you couldn`t make it in the real world..and don`t have record deal so F*CK YoU p.s. ha

Posted bySubXavier:
But in putting out the more poppy songs and still claiming that they are a hard rock band, Crazy Town is alienating a lot of fans that would listen to them. Pretty much the mirror of your idea, Rocky.

Posted byMetal Head:
I would have to say I think Crazytown sucks. I live near St. Louis and saw them at Ozzfest. They were terrible, and most people out there agreed with me. Through their whole set I could hear people saying they sucked and many other things. I thought it was funny as hell. Also, they have no right in playing after Black Label Society. If your going to put a crappy band like that on Ozzfest, the least they could have done is keep them apart from the bands that actually have talent.

Posted byRocky racoon:
I disagree with Subxavier, if they put out there harder stuff it wouldnt sell as well so it makes sence to put out the song with the most comercial potential

Posted bylittle gloomy the psycho:
SubXavier, I agree with you on that.. bands should put out their harder stuff; but, at the same time, by putting out both styles of what they offer, they get more fans that way. Yes, that's probably somewhat shallow on their part, to do things that way, but at the same time, if it helps them get a wider audience, then more power to them.

Posted bySubXavier:
This evokes parallels to Sugar Ray... a band that isn't well known puts out an album, then a single that supposedly doesn't sound anything like the rest of the album. Then again, "Fly" sucked too. If Crazy Town is a "hardcore" band (ugh, I hate that word), then I say the same thing I say to Sugar Ray fans: they should put out their hard songs.

You're entitled to your own opinion... BUT, you really should not be judging a group based on only ONE of their songs. If you were a review-writer who wrote a review truthfully... you should listen to the WHOLE cd of their's before judging them so quickly. Based on the way that you wrote this opinion of your's, it apprears that "Butterfly" is all you know Crazy Town for. 75% of their music on their cd is nothing like that one song. Listen to the whole cd, then give an opinion. Even if you still don't like them after that, at least it'd be an honest opinion of their music, rather than an opinion of ONE SONG & ONE VIDEO. Thank you kindly.
