Ian Siegal Announces 25th Anniversary UK Tour

(The Blues) Ian Siegal has confirmed a run of UK dates as part of his 25th anniversary tour later this year, playing songs from across his 11-album catalogue. It's to be tied in with the release of a deluxe retrospective package, with details to be revealed in due course.

His label, Nugene Music, say: "His first professional gig with the embryonic Ian Siegal Band was in the early 90s, when blues was decidedly unfashionable. Gaining a presence as a 20-year-old singing the blues was not easy. Thankfully, he persevered.

"You gotta pay your dues to the blues and he certainly has. From busking on the streets of Berlin as a teenage, to gruelling three-hours-a-night club residencies, to hair-raising treks across Eastern Europe, his CV includes shows in 35 countries, guest appearances with some of the great names of the blues, and a live album recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall." Thin Lizzy Guitarist Praises Predecessor Brian Robertson

(Classic Rock) Damon Johnson has heaped praise on former Thin Lizzy axeman Brian Robertson for being a "tremendous and special player." The current Thin Lizzy and Black Star Riders guitarist says he has spent decades learning his predecessor's parts, particularly on the 1978 album Live And Dangerous and he says he's still left in awe of Robertson's work.

He says: "Today and everyday, I am saluting the talent and special player that is Brian Robertson. As I am preparing for the upcoming Thin Lizzy dates, which I am privileged and honoured to be a part of, the album that I am referencing the most is Live And Dangerous."

Johnson continues: "It is inconceivable that Brian was only 21-years-old when these performances were recorded. And after decades of studying and practicing to all the Thin Lizzy albums with the classic lineup of Lynott/Gorham/Downey/Robertson, there are so many moments in Brian's playing that elude me as to what he was thinking, where on the neck he is playing, and how he is approaching his solos. Case in point his blistering improv at the end of Are You Ready. Read more here.

Kenny Chesney Joined On Stage By Randy Travis

(Radio.com) Randy Travis has slowly but surely been making more public appearances after suffering a debilitating stroke in 2013. Not only did Blake Shelton honor the country musician in late April by bringing him out onstage to share some kind words, but now Kenny Chesney followed suit with his own tribute.

Travis attended Chesney's Arlington, Texas show on Saturday (June 4) and sat stage side, according to Taste of Country. When Chesney began covering Travis' "Diggin' Up Bones" from the 1986 album Storms of Life, he invited the legend center stage to join him and sing. The two stood side-by-side while Chesney placed his arm around Travis and shared the mic.

Like Shelton, Chesney had some kind words about what Travis meant to him and the road he paved for country music. 'Randy Travis paved the way and brought back country music," he said. 'Like George Jones, he is an originaland the real deal. It was great having him in the house, and it was great bringing him out for all the fans to see the man who brought so many young people to country music back in the '80s."

A fan captured a snippet of their time together onstage. Watch it here.
