Brad Paisley Reveals Demi Lovato Duet 'Without a Fight'

(Radio.com) Brad Paisley and Demi Lovato appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! outdoor stage Tuesday (May 24) to practice their new duet, "Without a Fight." The little-bit-country, little-bit-pop-and-soul duo sounded great before the live studio audience in Los Angeles.

"There's a tangled mess of sheets on the bed, the lack of sleep pounding in my head / We both regret some of the things we said but we love the way it ended," Paisley crooned wistfully.

Lovato's voice, usually an instrument of pop intensity, complemented his style with tender harmonies. Watch the impressive (and seemingly unlikely) collaboration here.

Randy Travis Stars In New Film 'The Price'

(Radio.com) Country superstar Randy Travis, his wife Mary and The Voice alum James Dupre star in an upcoming film, The Price, which is set for release to DVD and Netflix on June 15.

The movie trailer shows the strong sides of the Travis that we've come to love, as well as a frail and hurting man as he lays in a bed trying to make amends with his son.

The plot is simple. IMDB states that Travis plays Roy Taggert, a country music legend who attempts to make amends with a son he never knew, Jonah Anderson (played by Dupre), who is an aspiring musician and longtime fan of his absent father. Travis' real-life wife, Mary Davis, plays Anderson's mom in the movie.

Director Kim Hughes writes on the movie's blog that though The Price is fictional, the film's premise was inspired by true-life events. Read more here.

Bruce Springsteen Offers His Coat To Underdressed Adele

(Radio.com) The Bruce Springsteen played a Rock In Rio festival show in Lisbon last week (May 20), which was attended by Adele. When Springsteen noticed she was underdressed for the outdoor concert he offered the British songstress his coat.

Adele thanked Springsteen at her own show in Lisbon: 'I was wearing a ridiculous skirt, which was silly. It gets quite windy in Lisbon," she told the crowd. "I had a little thin jumper on, and Bruce came out and said 'You're going to be cold.'"

Adele says she initially tried to turn down Springsteen's offer: "I was a bit drunk. I'd had four glasses of wine, so I said I'd be fine." However, the rocker insisted. Read more here.

OneRepublic Talk New Song 'Everywhere I Go'

(Radio.com) OneRepublic have a new song, "Wherever I Go," their first from their upcoming album. What's it about? "It's about obsession' the Calvin Klein fragrance," frontman Ryan Tedder jokes in an interview with Radio.com. He notes that he doesn't like discussing lyrics in too much detail, but he's happy to talk about the video.

"The quote that's the theme of the video is a famous quote, I don't know who said it--so I'll say that I made it up--it's 'The mass of mankind lead lives of quiet desperation.'" [The quote is actually from Henry David Thoreau's Walden from 1854.] "The idea that probably more than half the population has those moments: you walk to work, and you see everyone else walking to work dressed as you are, drinking your Starbucks going, 'God, is this really it?' And [in the video], the guy has that moment."

The band make a short cameo in the video. Tedder says, "Most of our favorite videos as a band, the artists are not in the videos. It's an art piece. If it's going to be a piece of art, let it be a piece of art. Squeezing the band in is tricky. We barely fit in to the narrative of this video. Barely. And I could have easily removed us from it." Maren Morris Goes R&B With 'No Diggity' Cover

(Radio.com) Maron Morris may be country's next big talent, but she's not limited to that genre altogether. On Instagram, she shared a clip from a live show where she got to display her R&B flavor.

In the video, Morris performs the classic mid-1990s jam "No Diggity" by Blackstreet. Her killer vocal range lends a tad of rock to the cover as she goes for long sustained notes. She wrote about the experience, "Got to live out my 90s baby R&B dreams last night. Couldn't have done it without my badass bandmates."

Morris isn't the only country artist to appreciate R&B. Little Big Town announced on May 24 that Pharrell would be producing their new album Wanderlust. Since the lines between contemporary country and R&B continue to be a bit blurry, perhaps this won't be the last time we see Morris stretching her range and going for a different style.

Morris' new album Hero drops June 3. Watch the cover performance here.

Dierks Bentley Discusses The Inspiration For 'Black'

(Radio.com) "I'm not from the South," Dierks Bentley says, while talking about his new album, Black. "So all of my music can't just be about living in the country or that lifestyle.

"All the singers I grew up with -- Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson -- were just writing about life. So if I am going to write about life and what I have learned so far, then I have to write about things that draw from a different idea pool."

Not that drawing from a different "idea pool" has been an issue for Bentley: he's as country as they come. He recently co-hosted the ACM Awards with Luke Bryan, and he's currently headlining one of the hottest country tours of the summer (Randy Houser, Cam and Tucker Beathard are also on the bill).

And like a lot of great country albums, Black is about relationships: specifically Bentley's relationship with his wife Cassidy, whose maiden name, Black, inspired the album's title. Bentley calls the album "a dark, mysterious, after-hours kind of record," filled with songs that look at the way romance and relationships evolve over time. "It explores some of the darker shadows of love, the edges of the heart, and the things that don't happen in broad daylight," he adds. "To me, that's the more interesting side of love." Anne Hathaway And James Corden Face Off In Rap Battle

(Radio.com) Anne Hathaway appeared on The Late Show with James Corden to promote her new Alice in Wonderland film, but used the opportunity to flex her rap muscles. She and Corden faced off in a rap battle that started courteous and professional but quickly got personal.

"I admit that Anne is both talented and sweet, and it's hard to say anything about her that's mean," Corden began "But I'm gonna try my best and air it out like tank tops, and like her movie Get Smart, her rhymes are gonna flop."

"Now it's her turn to try and act a little scary, 'cause the only Catwoman I acknowledge is Halle Berry," he added. Not to be outdone, Hathaway clapped back with some truly deep cuts.

"A Catwoman dis? Gosh, what do I do? I can't make fun of you James, 'cause no one's heard of you," the Oscar-winner rapped. "Now that I finally have a chance to speak, I saw your rhymes are like your ratings, damn, they're incredibly weak."

In the coup de grace, Hathaway hit Corden where he lives: "I'm like your wife: I watch Seth Meyers instead." Check it out here.

Singled Out: D. FRANCISCO's I Want Ya

Multi-genre singer/songwriter D. FRANCISCO recently released his debut single "I Want Ya" and to celebrate we asked him to tell us a little bit about the track. Here is the story:

Last year found me in the recording studio many a day throughout the weeks and months. One beautiful spring afternoon, during the first stages of the album's initial development, I was in the Spin Move Studios when Hero & Jason approached me with idea for our second song collaboration. I instantly liked it as it incorporated the Latin flavor I was seeking as well as the Dance & EDM elements I also love.

Hero asked me what I felt it was about, & I instantly knew it was about being at a club or lounge, and spotting this sultry, mysterious woman who totally captivates me, and the euphoria such an attraction always creates. I remember saying, "You guys are going to think I'm crazy, but I definitely hear the word 'Krasavitsa', which is Russian for 'beautiful' and/or 'sweetheart', as part of the chorus!"

Luckily, crazy is good in Hero's book, so we decided to make the chorus mainly be the various pet names for this foxy lady in a few different languages:

(CHORUS)
Krasavitza
Bella
Divina
I want ya

Preziosa
Hermosa
I see ya/I want ya
Mi gusta

{ repeat }

Incidentally, I'd originally learned the word "Krasavitsa" for a recital in which I was singing a few Rachmaninoff pieces. As I needed to pronounce the Russian the same exact way a native speaker would, I'd enlisted the help of some friends of mine for whom it's their mother tongue. One of them stressed what a beautiful word it was, and how Russian women love to be called this. Well, this has been extremely valuable advice over the years!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the official video here and learn more right here!
