De La Soul Return With 'God It' Featuring Nas
(Radio.com) De La Soul are on a roll. Last month the hip-hop pioneers raised over $100,000 on Kickstarter for a new album. Now they've just shared a new track, "God It," featuring none other than Nas.

The track features jaunty, horn-driven production from G_Force. For their part, De La Soul and Nas both offer playful and lyrical verses about the rap game and their place in it.

Meditations on the changing face of the music industry abound: "When platinum sales becomes wood" is one metaphorical examination of the way in which the industry has changed since the first days of De La Soul.

While Soul are in the studio working on their new album, they noted that this track won't be on it. In a note on their Soundcloud, they made clear that this is just a loosie.

"While busy at work, we also like to play!" they wrote. "This song is not from the new album, but an indication of the good music to come… Just a little appetizer until we complete the main course. You may recognize our featured guest. Enjoy." Check out the new song here.

The concept apparently came to Eldredge in a place that's caused anxiety for many. "Sitting on a plane, I literally started typing up how I thought it would be to do it, and here I am," Eldredge said. "You make it up and dream it and imagine it, and then you try to make it come true somehow." Watch the video here.
