70 Slipknot Songs Compressed Into Seven Minutes

(Metal Hammer) Slipknot are the subject of a fan video that features covers of 70 songs in just seven minutes. YouTuber Paschalis Theotokis and friends put together the clip that sees them churning through the band's catalogue by playing six-second clips of each track before segueing into the next one.

The whistle-stop audio tour starts with 742617000027 from their 1999 self-titled debut, and ends with If Rain Is What You Want from most recent title .5: The Gray Chapter.

Theotokis' Gigalyric video series includes 99 Metallica songs in 10 minutes, 80 Machine Head songs in eight minutes, 75 Lamb Of God songs in 7 minutes and others.

Metallica's Lars Is Shocked At The Success Of Black Album

(Metal Hammer) Lars Ulrich says the long-lasting success of Metallica's 1991 self-titled album is a "mindf***." The metal titans' seminal fifth record, also known as the Black Album, is the best-selling album in the US for the last 25 years, according to Billboard. It has sold 16.4 million copies since its launch and, having spent more than 390 weeks in the Billboard Top 200, is the longest-charting record since the tally began using Nielsen Data.

When asked what he thinks about their record-breaking success in the States, Ulrich tells Billboard: "I think you file that one under 'mindf***.' There's so many inherently bizarre things about that sentence or that fact that I don't even know where to begin.

"It's pretty amazing that 5000 people still buy this record every week in the US. I'd like to meet, No. 3267 last week. Who is that person? Did you not own it? Are you just replacing your old copy? Did it just show up on your radar?"

He adds: "I'm not knocking it, and I think it's awesome. Numbers like that are just so weirdly abstract to me." Read more here.

Suicide Silence Say New Album Is 'Gonna Be Exactly What Music Needs'

(Metal Hammer) Suicide Silence guitarist Mark Heylmun says their new material is "natural, raw and... pissed." They've been working on the follow-up to their last full-length album, 2014's You Can't Stop Me - and Heylmun claims the as-yet-untitled record doesn't mess about and gets straight to the point.

He tells Wall Of Sound: "It's not gonna be full of computer trickery. It's not gonna sound like all the ProTools ninjas and Logic ninjas. We got real microphones on real drums and real amps with real performances, real takes, real f***ing everything.

"The record's gonna be natural and raw and f***ing pissed. It's gonna be exactly what music needs, which is some f***ing heart. Some f***ing blood. Some real f***ing 'give a sh*t' passion put down on to moments in time."

"We recorded with tape on this record. There's real music, it's not samples. We just went for a record that speaks for us and really exemplifies where we're at as a band. It's gonna be something else for people to witness. Like a car accident they can't keep their eyes off of. here.

The guitarist says he's keeping tour plans firmly under wraps after bandmate M Shadows hinted at a revamped stage production and setlist on their forthcoming dates - but he reveals they've invested a lot of time and money into producing unforgettable shows.

Vengeance tells KRXQ's Pat Martin: "We're always talking and plotting and discussing what we can do to give our fans the best possible experience. We want everyone going home having had an amazing time, with a memory that will last a lifetime.

"I would say over the course of our last couple of touring cycles, certainly well into the millions of dollars have went up in flames just to give our fans a show they'll never forget."

He adds: "I certainly can't give away all of our tricks, but we spent a lot of time working on making sure that every single person there walks away feeling like they got their money's worth, and then some - because we're in the business of making fans that will last with us a lifetime.

"In order to do that, you've gotta give them something special. All my favorite bands that I have liked for my entire life are able to do that." here.

Against Me Reveal Inspiration Behind New Track '333'

(Metal Hammer) Against Me! have revealed the inspiration behind their new track 333. They've release a video for the song, featuring actor Natasha Lyonne. And guitarist and singer Laura Jane Grace says she wrote it after a "profound" museum visit while the band were in Spain.

Grace exclusively tells TeamRock: "Last May we were on tour in Europe and I woke up on the bus in Bilboa, Spain. There were a couple of hours to kill before soundcheck so we all went to the Guggenheim.

"I've never been as moved by an art museum experience before. I can't even begin to explain how profound it was to me. In that moment, I really just felt how truly lucky I was to be there in Spain, on tour with my band, travelling, playing music, having adventures - living.

"The lyrics were inspired by exhibits there at the Guggenheim - 150 Marilyns is an Andy Warhol painting, The Renowned Orders Of The Night is a painting by Anselm Kiefer, while The Tarot Garden is a reference to Nikki De Saint Phalle." Read more and watch the video here.

Singled Out: Sweet Cambodia's Anxiety

Orlando-based indie-funk-rockers Sweet Cambodia recently released their latest single, "Anxiety," and to celebrate we asked to tell us the story behind the track from tells us the wild story behind the track. Here is the story:

Our new single Anxiety pertains to those nights that are all said and done. When things are over for better or for worse. Eric had been messing around on the guitar with a new lick he had written out. The tempo was much slower, and the swing wasn't there yet. Although he did have the theme picked out. He wrote it about Savvy, and one crazy night.

This is that one night from Savvys' perspective. "Just one more drink one more drink I'll be good I really think" - First line of Anxiety. Around that time the band wasn't complete yet. There was only three members, and the name Sweet Cambodia had just been created. Don, Eric and I had invited our friend Blue over for drinks, which worked out since she had a friend in town. Which is always an excuse to drink. Cut to the six of us playing ring of fire (a drinking game).

The night continues on, and I end up drinking myself under the table. Puking, nudity, and blackouts, we all know the deal. The next day comes the guys go to get food I decide to stay at my house cook. While Donnie, and Eric go and come back. As I'm in the kitchen moving stuff around, it hits me. The memories of the night before slam into me like a ton of bricks.

Memories of betraying my significant other's trust from the night before flood my head. I collapse. Due to the overwhelming weight of guilt that crushes down on top of me. For there is no greater wrong than doing someone who only brings positivity into your life dirty. I spiraled after that. The thoughts of failure, and self disgust were only a few of the million thoughts bombarding my conscience. So I called her. Told her first thing on the phone, and had accepted the consequences of my childlike behavior. The guys found me in my kitchen on the floor sobbing, and talking to God.

The song is written to tell the story. To pay respects to our mistakes, and that we must face that. Although the most difficult thing you must face yourself because no one else has a greater opportunity than you to see, and understand. Simply put, be honest with yourself.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
