Wes Borland Speaks
Eat The Day reports: Wes Borlan posted an update to the Eat the Day website. Here is part of his message (see full story for the rest): Hey, So here's a few things... First of all, now that Eat the Day has been put on the shelf for a while... maybe forever, I've been up to a few things. The Rob Zombie album was a good outlet for a few weeks. We finished the demos and have about 16 songs ready to go, but Rob has to spend 100% of his time working on his new movie right now, so further recording has been pushed back to July. In the wake of this Zombie postponement, I started to fiddle around with some music of my own, and it seems to be turning into a pretty serious solo effort. I've contacted a few friends to be a part of this project and they all seem excited. I'm thrilled about it because I really feel like the 13 songs I have represent the headspace I am in musically at this point in my life. I'm trying to create a sound that mixes together everything I am inspired by right now, which includes an arsenal of instruments that I have not been able to incorperate into anything I've tried previously. I don't want to get too much into exactly what it's going to be like, as it is still taking shape and is all subject to revision.- Click Here for the Full Story

Timeless Jet?
Net Music Countdown reports: Jet Guitarist Cameron Muncey chimes in with his opinion on the band's sound. "There have always been bands that sounded like the sixties, but we don't see ourselves as a band from that era,'" he says. "We don't draw a line in the sand between now and then. Maybe in 200 years, the distance people put between 1970 and 2000 won't matter. Who knows who was first, Mozart or Beethoven? Does it even matter? A good song is a good song." Maroon 5 Almost Didn't Happen
Net Music Countdown reports: We already know Maroon 5 used to be a dismally boring band called Kara's Flowers. But we didn't know that Maroon 5 almost didn't exist as a result.

Singer/guitarist Andy Levine recalls, "There was a moment where we all questioned whether this band was going to work but we got over that hump and we know it obviously has worked."

"You just have to be patient and keep plugging along even if you experience massive failure as we did, but I think that was probably one of the best things that has happened to us," says Levine.- Click Here for the Full Story

Muse Singer Injured
Ananova reports: Muse have been forced to cancel shows on their US tour after Matt Bellamy suffered a horrific onstage accident.

The singer had to be taken to hospital after injuring himself with his guitar during a show in Atlanta, reports NME.com.

One fan told NME: "During their fifth song he smashed his face into his guitar. I noticed something was wrong immediately because he leaned over to his roadie and pointed to his mouth, then I looked and it looked as if someone was pouring a water bottle down his face constantly, but it was blood.

"He kept spitting up more and more blood until he started to sing, and before he could finish the first few lines he quickly removed his guitar and only said: "I can't sing, I've f***ed my face up!" and they all rushed off stage." - Click Here for the Full Story

Otep Soph
press release reports: Capitol Records has set the upcoming release of "HOUSE OF SECRETS," the eagerly awaited second album from acclaimed dark metallists OTEP. The album - which follows 2002's triumphant debut, "SEVAS TRA" - is due to arrive in stores coast to coast on July 27th.

"HOUSE OF SECRETS" was produced by Greg Wells, known for his work with a diverse range of artists, including the Deftones, Michelle Branch, and Elton John. The album - recorded late last year at Los Angeles' Rocket Carousel Studios - features a stunning evolution in the OTEP sound, a passionate, dangerous musical vision fuelled by the remarkable creative artistry of singer/poet Otep Shamaya. Tracks such as "Sepsis" and "Warhead" are both provocative and unsettling, marked by Shamaya's howling vocals and uncompromising lyrical genius. The album features guest drumming on six tracks by Slipknot/Murderdolls basher Joey Jordison. Extreme, experimental and altogether explosive, "HOUSE OF SECRETS" takes modern metal to a challenging, astonishing new plane.

OTEP will presage the album's release by returning to the annual Ozzfest tour. The Los Angeles-based band - whose intense performances were considered highlights of the 2001 and 2002 treks- Click Here for the Full Story
